Quick decision: New Ark. Lottery chief recommends Powerball
The newly hired director of the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery says he is recommending that the State Lottery Commission accept an invitation by Powerball to join the multi-state lottery known for its often soaring jackpots.
Ernie Passailaigue says he hopes the state begins selling scratch off tickets by October 29th and selling Powerball tickets by early 2010.
Passailaigue says he believes once the lottery is up and running Arkansas could see $1.5 million a day in sales.

Powerball ticket worth $88 million was sold in Charlotte area
There was one question just about everybody in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, wanted answered Sunday: Who bought the winning Powerball ticket worth $88.1 million?

Forgotten lottery ticket worth $250,000
A lottery ticket tucked away in a wallet for months turned out to be a winner, worth $250,000.
Michael Johnson, of Lexington, Ky., bought the Mega Millions ticket during a business trip to metro Atlanta back in February.

A Marshfield, Wisconsin, man is a million dollars richer, at least before taxes, after winning the Powerball lottery.
Rafael Ruiz Jr., 28, is also Wisconsin's first Power Play winner.

S.D. Lottery to introduce Powerball winner
The mystery Powerball winner will soon be identified.
The South Dakota Lottery plans a ceremony Friday afternoon in Pierre to introduce the winner of last week's $232.1 million jackpot.
The winning ticket from the May 27 drawing was purchased in the town of Winner, which has two Powerball lottery outlets.
It's the ninth-largest Powerball jackpot ever won and the biggest ever paid out in South Dakota.
