A Bucks County, Pennsylvania, man has become the first to claim a $1 million top prize from the Pennsylvania Lottery's Dec. 30, 2006, Millionaire Raffle drawing.
John Maier of Churchville presented his winning raffle ticket at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County. After examining the ticket and executing other propriety security measures, Lottery officials today confirmed that it was one of the five top-prize winning tickets from the Dec. 30 Millionaire Raffle drawing.

Penn. Lottery Millionaire Raffle results drawn
The Pennsylvania Lottery selected the winning numbers Saturday for its special Millionaire Raffle drawing.
Contestants have a 1-in-125,000 chance of winning one of five $1 million prizes.
The winning numbers for the $1 million prizes were 075378, 348743, 370503, 473527, 528773.
Numbers were also selected for other prizes ranging from $1,000 to $100,000.

The executive director of the Pennsylvania Lottery is leaving his post to work for the owner of the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Daily News, the state and the company announced Thursday.

Lottery sales in Pa. hit record $3 billion
Pennsylvania Lottery sales for the 2005-06 fiscal year reached a record $3.07 billion, Gov. Rendell said yesterday.
Sales grew by $425 million, the largest dollar increase in the lottery's 34-year history, leaving the agency with a $400 million surplus. The state will use half that money to expand property-tax and rent-rebate programs for senior citizens, said Stephanie Weyant, a spokeswoman for the state Revenue Department.

Dad, son step up as $1 million lottery winners
Weeks of small-town speculation ended yesterday when the Pennsylvania Lottery Commission confirmed a West Pennsboro Twp. family won $1 million on a ticket sold at the local pharmacy.
