Another day another mistake for the Tennessee Lottery
Can it be possible? It appears that once again the Tennessee Lottery has made a mistake so glaring it requires them to pay out two sets of midday numbers. The lottery spokepeople must be getting tired of the mistakes too, because they didn't even attempt an explanation this time. A terse statement on the Tennessee Lottery web site Monday evening reads as follows: The official midday Cash 3 and Cash 4 numbers for Sept. 17, 2007 are 133 for Cash 3 and 6121 for Cash 4. Players can clai ...

Ohio Lottery halts Pick 4 betting on final score of Buckeyes game
Ohio Lottery players were betting that the numbers 4114 would be luckier for them than the Buckeyes. So many people placed wagers based on the 41-14 final score of Florida's victory over Ohio State in the national championship game that the lottery stopped players from choosing the numbers Tuesday morning, spokeswoman Marie Kilbane said. The lottery automatically stops players from selecting numbers for the Pick 3 and Pick 4 games once the potential payout reaches $6 million, Kilbane sai ...

Ohio lottery numbers same as game score
Ohio State's 42-39 victory over Michigan also was lucky for players of the Ohio Lottery. Minutes after Saturday's game was over, the numbers 4-2-3-9 were drawn for the Pick 4 game. You know it happens, lottery spokeswoman Marie Kilbane said Sunday. Bettors can play the game in a variety of ways. Anyone who played $1 and picked the 4-2-3-9 combination in order won $5,000. The odds of the numbers turning up in that combination were 10,000 to 1. The lottery paid a total of $2.19 milli ...

"666" is hot with Maryland Lottery players
Yesterday's date inspired a popular Pick 3 lottery combination: 666. But not for long. The Maryland State Lottery stopped selling midday and evening Pick 3 tickets with that combination late yesterday morning, according to Buddy W. Roogow, the lottery's director. The agency cuts off play when the state's liability on a payout reaches $7 million. Other sold-out combinations? 066, 660, 6666, 6606, 6066 for the evening drawings. All were variations of June 6, 2006 - a date that represen ...

Kentucky Lottery's "666" numbers sell out
The number sequence 6-6-6 is seldom associated with luck, but Kentucky lottery players appear optimistic. Thousands of hopeful players quickly snatched up the 10,000 available Pick 3 tickets with the numbers 6-6-6 for today's midday drawing at 1:20 p.m., lottery spokesman Chip Polston said. The 10,000 available tickets for the 11 p.m. drawing were expected to be sold by early afternoon. S.C. Lottery Stops Selling Number "666"
The South Carolina Educational Lottery has stopped selling tickets Tuesday with combiations with 666 in it. That means no more 6-6-6, 6-6-0-6, and 6-6-6-6. Tuesday is of course June 6, 2006 or 06/06/06, if you're so inclined. And apparently, a lot of people are. Lottery officials say they've reached their liability on selling the above numbers, meaning they wouldn't be able to pay out all the winners if those numbers should be drawn. The lottery says they have a $3.5 million cap on P ...

Pick 4 lottery player wins $500,000
A Silver Spring, Maryland, man won $500,000 in Wednesday evening's Maryland Pick 4 drawing playing twenty tickets. This is the second big win for him. In 1997, he won $250,000 playing Pick 4. I told the Lottery official back then that I would be back and here I am, he said. The winner also hit midday that same day for $3000. The office manager of a contracting company was home sick on Wednesday and called the store to put in his evening numbers. The retailer told him he hit midda ...
