Maryland liquor store owner charged in lottery scam
The owner of a liquor store in North Point, Maryland, was arrested and charged with grand theft, petty theft, and fraud after she was caught stealing an undercover agent's winning lottery ticket worth $10,000. Ross Liquors, located in the Merritt North Shopping Center, had its Maryland Lottery license revoked following the undercover operation. The theft occured on last week, on March 8th. That's the idea behind a campaign to force Puerto Rico's many tiny markets, food stalls and other mom-and-pop businesses to collect sales tax.
