N.C. man wins $90,800 in Pick 4 lottery drawing
Fourth major lottery prize hit by playing 20 tickets with same number
It's been a good number for me.
That remark by Steven Granger of Henderson, North Carolina, may be the understatement of the year.
He selected the number combination 5-1-1-7 on 20 tickets in the Virginia Lottery's May 22 Pick 4 day drawing, and they all won. Each of his exact order tickets won $5,000 and each of the 50/50 tickets won $2,700, for a grand total of $90,800.
That would be amazing enough, but it's onl ...

Prison terms for lottery ticket attackers
A $5 Bankroll lottery ticket won eastern Henrico County, Virginia, resident Jeff Brownell $1,000 last year but cost him his left eye in a brutal robbery attempt.
Yesterday, a plea agreement, a promise of immunity and a jury trial resulted in vastly different outcomes for Brownell's attackers.
Last night, after deliberating less than an hour, a Henrico jury found a neighbor of Brownell's guilty of multiple charges in the attack May 14 last year. Richard Greene, 33, the neighbor who did not ...
