On New Year's Day, Phil Moses was atop a ladder, putting some big news up on the marquis outside Ma Pa's Grocery Express in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Wisconsin man claims $14.4M lottery jackpot
Terry Peters, of Two Rivers, Wisconsin, became a millionaire Tuesday.
Peters validated the sole winning ticket from Saturday's $14.4 million Megabucks drawing at state lottery offices. Earlier on Monday, Peters had stopped by the store where he purchased the ticket to check if he was a winner.
He chose to take the lump sum cash payment of $7.6 million. He will receive about $5.4 million after taxes.

The winning Powerball ticket in the weekend drawing was purchased in Stoughton, Wisconsin, lottery officials said Sunday.
It said the ticket worth $40.7 million was bought at the Food Pantry/Diamond Jubilee there.

A man holding four winning lottery tickets each worth $350,000 has claimed his prize, a Wisconsin lottery official said Thursday.
Tobin Thomas of Slinger won a total of $1.4 million in the state's SuperCash drawing Tuesday.
