Mississippi is arguing about the tobacco money that needs to go to what Mike Moore argued and won for the state for.  Tobacco education, treatment, etc.  It should not be used to bale out other state entities like Medicaid.  Medicaid could uses proceeds from the lottery and our education system could certainly use it.  I do not think that the casinoes will find it a problem because they are either on Reservations or in the water.  The neighboring state of Louisiana has casinoes and the lotttery.  Many West Mississippians cross the state lines to play Louisiana Lotto.  South Mississipians play Louisiana Lotto and Florida Lotto.  When the MEga Millions get large enough, we go to Georgia.  It is about time that states opposing Lotto open their eyes.  They are loosing money the other states have!

It doesn't matter who hurt you, or broke you down

It only matters who made you smile again.

Don't forget, north Mississippi residents go to TN!

Here's another interesting statistic I read about Powerball. The South Carolina Education Lottery has sold a few Powerball tickets that won the jackpot. Every one of those jackpot winning tickets was purcahsed by a North Carolina resident!

I just read here on Lottery Post it is estimated 70% of the adult population of North Carolina has played the lottery at some point. I wonder what the figure is for MS?

It's only a matter of time before MS officials come to grips with the fact that MS people are going to gamble whether they have to go to another state and do it or not.

No politician can watch money leaving the state in the millions for very long when it could easily be theirs, with the possible exception of Utah.  I can't see the Mormon majority there ever allowing it.
