I had a $7 winner last night!!

Mega Millions players won more than $5 million in Tuesdays drawing. Here is a breakdown of the 802,985 winning tickets:



7 tickets matched 5 numbers for $175,000

61 tickets matched 4 numbers + the Mega Ball for $5,000

2,674 tickets matched 4 numbers for $150

2,433 tickets matched 3 numbers + the Mega Ball for $150

38,455 tickets matched 2 numbers + the Mega Ball for $10

122,314 tickets matched 3 numbers for $7

224,939 tickets matched 1 number + the Mega Ball for $3

412,102 tickets matched the Mega Ball for $2



Those seven tickets that each won $175,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were sold in Georgia (1), Illinois (1), Michigan (2), New Jersey (1), Texas (1) and Virginia (1).



Michigan Tickets were purchased at:

In the group: 01 02 05 10 13 17 18 20 21 22 24 27 28 30 33 34 35 38 43 50, I had 3 of the white balls and the megaball, but the best I could do with 20 lines was a match 2 three times and a match 1+1 for $3.  I may add some more conditions to my numbers selections and hope to have more winning numbers in the group. Limiting the group to 20 numbers does making winning something easier even if all six winning numbers aren't in the group. Good luck to you too on Friday.

Exactly, That's why I try to stay with 12 to 15 Number's in my Wheel. If I'm off. Oh well... But if I'm on, I  all the way to the Bank.

Besides being more expensive, has anyone found wheeling 26 or 31 #'s for MM to be advantageous?

With 30 numbers there are 4,060 combinations of 3's, so the wheel has to be big to have a guarantee of trapping 3 numbers if they are there.  I like to play 20+ numbers, but I prefer to randomly put them in 20-50 lines using parameters similar to previous winners, that way if I only match the megaball one time I've only lost $20-$50. Matching 3 one time and matching the megaball several times with a big wheel still means you've spent a lot more to get similar results.
