Appearantely MI's WinFall is doomed. www.lotteryinsider.com I've redone my website. Go to www.dr-ew.com. I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff. Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

The thrice-weekly Michigan WinFall lotto game will end May 14 and be replaced with a new, twice-weekly game called Classic Lotto 47, says state Lottery Commissioner Gary Peters.
WinFall's last drawing will be May 14. The first drawing for the new game will be May 18, Peters said.

Like the Lotto will do any better? At least Winfall when it got to 5 million was the best value in America.

How many times has Michigan changed? First Lotto (6/40), then Super Lotto (6/44), then Lotto47, then Bonus Lotto (also 6/47, don't know the difference between that and Lotto47), then Michigan Lotto (6/49), and then Michigan Millions (played exactly like OH Super Lotto Plus, except with 51 balls), and then WinFall, and now back to Lotto47. Michigan can't seem to find a pick-6 game that clicks.

I think I figured it out. Until WinFall, the odds were abyssmal, seeing you had to match at least 4 numbers (3+Wild in Michigan Millions). And I guess without big rolling jackpots, WinFall just didn't make it, which is too bad because that's the best pick-6, if not the best game, they ever had. Hopefully the revival of Lotto47 will also get winners for 3/6. I just hope we start seeing some revivals in Pennsylvania soon. Those would be great signs "Wild Card Lotto is BACK!", "Super 7 is BACK!", etc.

Their claim that when it started they got $1.5m/week and now they get $1m/week is easily explained:
When they started, they had 5 rolldowns IN A ROW. Now, they've had 2 in the last 6 MONTHS. If fewer people won jackpots, there would be more rolldowns, and more people would play. Maybe they could add a couple of numbers to the matrix.
a 6/47 game is disappointing, especially coming from a lottery that normally is pretty ambitious with its new games. In the 30-year history of the Mass. lottery they've retired exactly one online game (Mass Millions, which was just like Megabucks, and similar in style to Mega Millions.) I find it hard to believe the claim that they need a new game in Michigan every 3 years because people get bored with it.

And on another note, if the trend from the last build-up continues, and no one hits the jackpot, they should need 16 more draws to reach the rolldown point. The rolldown woud be 5 weeks from tomorrow, May 18. Winfall's last drawing will be four days earlier. So I think it's officially Just Another Lotto Game now.

MI Bonus Lotto was $2 per play, and if you didn't match all six numbers, you needed the Bonus Ball to win (IIRC 5+0 paid NOTHING).

That's bad. No wonder it only lasted less than a year.

Maybe Michigan should have offered subscription play, which apparently will soon be available for MA Ca$h WinFall.

i don't think subscriptions would help. players wold just not play from their homes instead of going to the store and not playing. i thought WinFall was doomed from the start. it's obvious that nobody likes a jackpot limit. had they increased that limit to maybe $10 million, then sales would have picked up. then it would have taken over a year to reach the winfall point. i liked michigan millions much better.
perhaps the classic lotto 47 will have an all cash jackpot? I've redone my website. Go to www.dr-ew.com. I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff. Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.
