Absolutely not. Remember, lotteries are all about making extra revenue for the state. THey are not about giving anything to the people, outside of a "voluntary tax". Nevada has no need to rake in extra revenue, due to the huge amounts the casinos pay to the state in taxes. The state of Nevada would institute a state income tax on its citizens before it would go through the expense of running a lottery. If Nevada doesn't need to have a state income tax, it doesn't need to have a lottery. Their is no incentive to the state govt to start one.

It may not be now, but i think Las Vegas will eventually get a lottery (if they want a healthy education system)...I just hope is the right one, specially pick3 & pick4, they need to eliminate those, in las Vegas...And i dont know how they are going to do it because i think every state has pick3 or pick4....And if they dont have a pick3/4, people are going to be clamouring for it/them.....

The hotel/casinos in Nevada are already taxed so adding a lottery will have very little impact. The majority of the Ohio Lottery's profits go into its educational system and that only amounts to 4.5% of the money needed for funding.
I don't understand what you mean by "eliminating the pick-3 and pick-4" because those games are generally the most popular and most profitable of all the online games. Nevada will probably have about the same games as the other states.

In royal-flush crazy Las Vegas $500 and $1000 payoffs for a Pick 3 and Pick 4 game are not going to create much interest at all. People can just put oney into a vido poiker machine and go for those kind of payoffs and not have to wait for a nightly drawing.
A state lottery offering at least $2,000,000 as a start point would be different. There are some progressive slots that offer those kind of jackpots but they most always take multiple coins, for one thing.
Back in the 1980's when the lottery issue came up Nevada's answer at that time was the Mega Millions progressive slots. This was the first time the slots in different casinos were networked, and whenever anyone played a machine that was part of the progressive jackpot, the meter went up on all the machines around the state. It was weird seeing the meter advance on a machine with no one playing it or even near it.
At the time (maybe still, I don't' know) those machines were 25 cent machines (quarters) and every $1.25 in the machine advanced the jackpot one cent ($.01) Think about that one.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

No, the gambling industry will continue to keep out any other competitor that could compete with casinos. Every dollar that someone spends on a state lottery is one less dollar in profit for a Nevada casino. As a result, when the issue of starting a state lottery comes up, gambling lobbyists lobby against the proposed state lottery, make claims that state lotteries are immoral, and release “studies that show lotteries are played by lower economic level people who need the money for necessities.”
