most people just buy a ticket in case i dont think the majority of people get online and use systems because i havent heard any winner mention a system but maybe they just dont want anyone else to know their secret. the average winner knows stories about being struck by lightning having abetter chance than winning the jackpot but they dont care they play anyway.

The 'average' lottery player is the one that buys a ticket 'for the heck of it' when they buy gas or smokes at the kwikee-mart, and they really don't know HOW the numbers are drawn, they just know when the jackpot gets 'up there'.

No, but I think everyone cares about the price of a ticket.  o me the average player buys one or two tickets every once in a while.  I think if the price suddenly increased to $2 or $3 per ticket, it might discourage many of these people.  Most people don't care about scandals or even have a clue about the drawings.  Just stand at the store for a while and count the number of people who ask the clerk "Did I win something?" or "What's the jackpot today?"

I would say the average lottery player has never looked at the back of a plyslip to see what the odds and payouts were, or doesn't even know they are on the back of the slip.

And of course, anyone who has only played QP's doesn't even use the slips, so...

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

                Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

No,they don't care. They don't even know the odds, most of them.

Same in casinos. Do you think people know which are the good machines to play? Most don't,I've seen. It's all about the payback.

The average lottery player relies on pure luck.  You know, the whole dollar and dream hook.  What they fail to realize is that this is a game and like ALL games, with the right tools, it can be beaten.

The universe does not bend to your ignorance.

Just because you believe it, doesn't make it true.

Luminus says: "with the right tools, it can be beaten." That is a good positive attitude! I agree.  Most people don't spend much time on trying to understand odds, and for that matter much of anything else, unless it affects them directly. LOL jarasan

I think the average lotto player is clueless when it comes to the nuts and bolts of the lottery. Take my extended family for example. They only buy a lotto ticket when the jackpot is very large. They used to think they would receive the whole jackpot if they win, and they would just get their money the next day. I have over the years tried to educate them on what to expect if they were to win, along with what to do if this happy occurrence was to happen to them. They are not alone, you see this all the time with lottery winners. I cringe every time I read about a jackpot winner talking to the media the next morning after they win, sometimes even before they talk to the lottery commission.

I think EVERYONE who happens to win relies on pure luck.  The lottery draw games are not the same as any casino card game where a level of skill and luck comes into play.  Just looking at the majority of the past 3 years big jackpot game winners will show that only 1 or 2 won by playing their own picks obtained via some type of analysis; the rest won with just the purchase of a QP.  If it were the other way around, then you might have a valid point.  But that is not the case, so good luck does rule the roost in lottery games...to think otherwise, a person is just fooling him/herself.  Like I believe...

Get MONEY!!! Winning a JACKPOT lottery is all the HOPE and CHANGE I desire!!!  NOW give me MONEY!US Flag

The guy who won the presidency in 2008 really won the lottery...he is now millions richer, travels in first class style, and even has a staff that would be the envy of the richest Powerball winner (she has a staff of 2). Every night he goes to sleep, he probably plays the close of Dave Chappelle's Show: I'm rich beyatch!
