I just got off the phone with Mike Krause, who is Senator Kyle's Policy Advisor.
He says the response has been tremendous!
In fact, they have received so many calls that Senator Kyle is requesting that people call his regular office phone number, instead of the phone number previously released. (It was his cell phone!)
Just as a side note, doesn't it speak volumes about Senator Kyle, that he has been personally answering the phone and speaking to every person individually? Now that's a good example of representative government!
The new phone number to call is (615) 741-4167.
Mike asked that people continue to call and share their thoughts on what is going on with the Tennessee Lottery. Mike said they are "thrilled" about the response, and they want to hear from everyone who has a story to tell or opinions to share.
As a recap, Senator Kyle, who was one of the key proponents in Tennessee for starting the lottery there, has called for a meeting of the oversight committee for the Tennessee Lottery, because of the recent rash of problems.
Letters were sent last week to the House Speaker and the Senate Speaker (who is also the Lt. Governor) requesting the meeting, so the "ball is rolling" already.
A date for the meeting has not yet been set, since the committee is large and people will have to come together from around the state.
They are anxious to hear from lottery players, to express what you think of the recent problems. Specifically, they are looking for how you personally feel about the situation, what, if anything, you have done (such as play less, be more suspicious, or maybe no reaction at all!), and feel free to share what you think should be done about it.
