I just wanted to point out that there is a similar program (thought not as cool) as the Gadget program. (awesome program btw). its called "getsCAL". I hope it's not considered advertising. I just wanted to point it out to the XP users out there. it didn't let me post the link though. outrun. org/getscal/

Your link isn't making it through, because we have very strong anti-spam measures here. (Much-needed for sites related to the lottery.) If you will e-mail me the link I'll take a look. (You can use the contact page on the left.)
nevermind I figured it out.

Well, that's not the same as the gadget. It is California-only, and provides no gadget experience. It's just a regular application, not something that sits on the desktop doing real-time updates. All that same info is available right here at Lottery Post. I really can't see any benefit, and I'm not just saying that because of the gadget. It looks like what you'd find here, for people who don't know how to use a web browser.

That program also costs $5.00, and the gadget is free. (As is Lottery Post.)

ok I guess its not equivalent. but its good for people (like my mom) who cant do anything with a computer other than open programs. when I said equivalent I meant in the sense that it gets lotto numbers. didn't mean to disrespect your gadget.

Installed everything in order and it's working like a dream. The LP gadget is really cooly. I just love the souns effects..I don't have to keep running back to the results page or to betslips to see what's hitting. The Fibonacci Winning Group

I posted in a comment in that blog entry, and I indicated that I was successful in getting it to work under XP. It's definitely not "officially" supported, since it is not an official Microsoft-supported product, but everything (including the gadget) is free, so who cares? Overall, my recommendation is just to get Vista. It's a relatively painless upgrade, now that drivers are available for just about everything, and the home versions are not expensive and don't require all that much more power than XP does. If you're stuck on XP, then go ahead and give the Sidebar emulation program a try.
