I have an uncle that would get about half of mine.

Not only would I not share with anyone (including mother), I would not tell anyone.

Agreed.

You must be related to me and have the same family I do.

If the jackpot is $50m or more, I'd give lump sums to my kids, sisters, and parents, regardless of gift taxes if I can't avoid them.  After that, I'd give at least 10% of the annual earnings off what I invest to charity.  Half of that would go to America's Harvest which is a national food bank.  The other half would be discretionary depending on what 403c charity is in need or if a local organization is in need.

Below $50m, since I would take the cash option, I probably would not tell my family of the windfall.  I would help each out when in need, and probably leave a nice sum to them in my will. The 10% of earnings will still apply for charities.

I did promise my two kids $100k cash each when I win the lottery, if they deliver a recorded public smack-down to their jacka.. of a dad.  Both are game, if that tells you anything, and son says he will include a smack-down to the employee-gf he married.  Would that be considered sharing?

After reading some comments in this thread, I guess I hit the lottery in some way, by having the family that I do. We might not be the richest or the luckiest or even have had things go well for us, but we really do love each other and I guess many people can't say that. Smile

Of course, the government will take their share of my winnings, that's my definition of "sharing with others." Other than that probably not. I'll give if they ask and as i have said on a previous post i will NOT tell anyone of my winnings, so if they do ask it will probably be a miniscule amount compared to what i will have.

There are certain people in my life who have stuck beside me, and helped me through alot of difficult times, asking nothing in return.

so, you can believe when I win, expecially if its for a large amount, I'm going to take care of the people who are nearest and dearest to me.

So, yes...I will share...:)
