I was reading this press release and noticed where the ticket was purchased. So I wondered if Arnold The Pig was the lucky winner. After all, anyone can grunt "quick pick." The rules say you just have to be 18 but don't indicate species.
Well, congrats to the winner. If it was Arnold, now he can really bring home the bacon!
Here is the news release from Monday morning:
The Florida Lottery announced today that one lucky player matched all five winning numbers in the Sunday, August 10, FANTASY 5® drawing and will win a $173,594.42 top prize.
The winning FANTASY 5 numbers were:
04 - 10 - 12 - 17 - 35
The winning ticket was sold at the following location:
Publix - Quick Pick
6790 Forest Hills Boulevard
Greenacres

Haha!
It wouldn't shock me to learn one day that someone has been buying their pets lottery tickets. I am waiting for the day when we learn about a dog, cat, fish, horse or some other animal winning a large jackpot in the news.

Do pigs live for 18 years? According to one page I saw, it says:
The average life span of a wild pig is 25 years.
The life span of a domestic pig tends to be 10 - 15 years.
So maybe if a pig lived long enough, it could purchase a ticket.

The NC Cash 5 had a winner last night also for $119,097.00. The numbers were 3,6,13,30,31...and had 2 winners. I bet those weren't computer picks. Dadgum people here are hitting it right and left and I can't even get a 3 or 4 number hit. I'm doing something all wrong.

In a "Lotto World" magazine article many years ago jackpot winning numbers were attributed to a cat playing with a lotto shaker pen which was a small globe with tiny balls which fell into a tiny tube atop the pen. Lotto World is no longer published. Be$$$$$t of luck to everyone!!!

It seems every year that article or one like it shows up in one of the tabloids.
The magazine is dead, but the story lives on... as do sales of shaker pens and kitties. Prince of Insufficient Light ~ Ruler of Heck
