Nike, Sanyo, LG, Panasonics, Sony, washers and dryers, Books and priting press and dictionaries, sci-fi movies, pharmaceuticals...

There are stocks that no matter how good they are doing i will not invest in them, like oil (polutes the air), MacDonalds Fast food nor any stock that kills cows, they could be throwing away money i will not buy them...i don't think i'll invest in restaurants but who knows...would not invest in cellphones and communications like the media...

PLEASE tell me how to invest in LG, a privately-held company...

So, you won't invest in Oil, but I bet you ride in vehicles that use oil or gas.

You don't like pollutants but I bet you are using electricity that is being created by something such as oil, gas, coal or nuclear powerplants - all which pollute.  Something warms the water for your washer, something creates heat for your dryer, books and printing presses use paper shredded from lumber, depleting more forest land.

You must not eat any meat or wear any clothing made of leather, such as shoes or belts, a wallet maybe ?

And I find it interesting you would invest in Nike - known for rampant use of child or slave labor in third-world countries used to make a pair of shoes for less than $2, that sell for $75-200 ??

Knowing all this, about all you can do is invest in agriculture or wind power companies.  Maybe.

yes, I believe you can invest in them through world markets from msn money sponsoring partners.  Don't hold me to that, though, I'm no stock person.  Check it out first.

I definitely rage against the high gas prices. But believe me, if I had the funds available to me, I'd buy millions of dollars worth of Big Oil stock. However, I don't believe oil prices will be rising too much in the near future. They most likely leveled off somewhat and the increases won't be astronomical for the time being. A bunch of my JP money would be in technology and communications for that reason.

I don't think that is the same 'LG' as what you are thinking, I researched that years ago.

From what I am understanding, GE has a large stake in LG - the durable goods conglomerate, but it is privately held.

Justex- cute response! I was thinking more in Nylons and legwear but your response is cleaver!

Seriously not a dime would go to stocks (investment), played that game in the 1990's and lost pretty dern near every safe investment I could have had. The tax from them doesnt make for any type of return. You lose 20% to your broker and the rest uncle sam gets.

Soybean is to be the next commodity that if ever I had the nerve to jump in the market again, that would be the item.

Who on earth uses a broker anymore ?

I'm doing quite well even today, thank you.

The key for investing today is - don't.

Today we don't invest - we TRADE.  Big difference.

I USED to invest for the long term (buy and hold), my philosophy on that changed totally last October, and I'm glad it did.

I'd try to stick to things I'm interested in and have immediate knowledge of and then go from there. Obviously get into commodities, even if prices are going down they'll always go back up, well unless there's a discovery that replaces it or creates a infinite supply.

Real estate isn't a bad investment as long as you don't get into it at a bad time, people will always need places to live or build. But only for land, no old, possibly former crack houses that need renovation and are in crummy neighbor hoods for me. Commercially zoned land might be good as long as it's either in a good location or an area that becomes a good location.

Thumbs UpGood point DCB1!  Buy LOW - Sell HIGH -  What is the real estate market doing right now... going down... what will it be in 5-10 years - MUCH higher.. what is the property anyone bought 5-10 years ago worth now?  Even after the recent drop its still worth ALOT more!

Money won is twice as good as money earned!

No i don't eat meat, and this is something i've wanted to do for about 9 years now...I eat chicken every now and them but i mostly like fish...If i could eat fish everyday i will do so...

About the cows i don't say you can't kill the cows but killing cows just because you want to get hamburgers out of them or red meat, you are growing an animal just because you want to kill it and i mean the animal is bigger is not like it was a small animal..That's kind of cruel and not just that but you feed him what YOU WANT come on...I've come to dislike redmeat and dislike even more hamburgers..Is something that i did for years but never had the courage to say it and since in my neighboorhood the only thing they had was hamburgers because it was the only thing and the nearest thing they got...They don't have no soup restaurants no subway...

I don't ride a car i rode a car because i have to because in my state of Georgia you HAVE TO DRIVE A CAR...Where i live they don't have trains...I love taking trains or buses...If my state had trains it will be so wonderful specially a train with double deck...I was in great lakes and i took the train and what a wonderful feeling...I don't like driving cars i mean if you are in the U.S is obligatory for you to drive..Not saying that driving is not cool but i always had a thing for riding a train...

Another stock i would invest is in the fish industry and yes soybean is a marvelous stock i would invest in too it shows promise...

i would invest in Nike because nike is universal...if you notice most of my stock are universal...and i love that word so much universal...

Black & Decker, Samsung, Whirpool, Westinghouse if it still exist are some of the stock i would invest in....

And this are things i like for years they are not recent...I ride a bus...I can get myself a car but i don't because i prefer the bus...But guess what? I dislike airplanes i don't like riding on airplanes or on elevators or living on a 45 stories building...
