No winner tonight, the stats above were the final for 2009.

Here's the results for 2008, 2009, and combined:

These were the 2008 results:

146 Jackpots

120 QP   82.19%

91 PS      62.32%

(includes shared jackpots)

2008 was a leap year. So in 366 days jackpots were paid out 146 times or every 2.506 days

82.19% of the jackpot winners were QP

62.32% were player's selections, or PS

2009

365 drawings, 157 jackpots, a hit every 2.32 days.

To date:

157 Jackpots

132 QP   84.07%

87 PS      55.41%

Total jackpot money paid out to date: $33,295,000

Two years combined

731 drawings

303 Jackpots

252 QP  83.16%

178 PS   58.74%

Anyone who insists that quick picks don't hit as often as player's picks needs to pick a game and track it.

I think two years worth of results is pretty conclusive.

Anyone who wants the results daily can go to the Illinois Lottery website and subscribe to an e-mail for them and have them sent, or just get them on the website every night.

Buono Fortuna.

Thank you Coin Toss for your dedication and insight into this thread over the past several years.

Interstating stats, although I don't play LL, it's good to know.  When they changed the payout scale is when I stopped playing.  Winning a $100 for 4 numbers is not good.  I'll take my chances on pick3 for a better payout.

In your analysis, did you track where the tickets were being won, and if there were more won at a particular location?  just curious.

    Thanks again.

      Hi onenumber, and thanks!

Yeah, back when it was 5/30 and the lower prizes weren't stagnant it was better. I guess people wanted to know why they didn't get paid for hitting 2 of 5 so now they win a screaming one dollar and the game changed drastically.

Most of the winners were in Chicago or the Chicago area and the Collar Counties. (Duh!, population).

In 2008 before the White Hen Pantrys were sold (I think 7-11 bought them) there was an inordinate number of jackpot winners sold at White Hens.

There were actually one or two jackpots paid south of Springfield!

I picked this game to track on the Forum because it's a jackpot game with a daily drawing. Over the course of a year the Pick 6 and 5 + 1 games don't produe enough winners to really establish any prepnderences.

If I'd have known about LP when the Little Lotto was 5/30 I certainly would have played more back then.
