Don't do it!  Wait until the law changes (if it does).

Great legal opinion link, makes sense to me.  BobP

"Mere participation in online betting or wagering is not banned or criminalized by the Act.

Section 5364 requires financial institutions to adopt procedures and policies designed to block the flow of prohibited funding to the operators of the affected online gambling Websites."

That's why, when the law was passed, I could not bet on line any more.  My bank and all 3 credit unions that I belong to refuse to send money to or receive money from the third party companies that the on line betting places use.  Paypal also refuses.

We just need to wait and see if the law is changed.

I've been waiting three years for them to correct this unlawful act.  My Congressman Robert Wexler was against it from the start.  Where is my freedom to spend my own money as I see fit?  Supposed to be a free country, right?  And what assurance do we have online lottery will be legal if the law is changed?  Will the states ever agree to any form of online lotto?  I doubt it. They don't want to compete with better games in another state or 90% payouts online.   More likely the big U.S. brick and motar casino companies will be allowed to go online and collect taxes on casino game winnings while the government continues crushing the small fry.  BobP

Right on.  The bill that is in congress right now does NOT address online lotto, so if it is not amended, we will still be without online betting for the lotto.  Seems to me that the US Government could find a way to tax it!!
