We wanted to know how to get the edge. Here's one possible out of the box approach that may require going out on the limb
Go to the keno supervisor and request a frequency distribution report for each number that has come up over the last several thousand trials, since the balls were changed last. When you get the report, run standard deviation testing on the number of times that each ball has hit. If one of the balls has hit more than four standard deviations then there's a high chance that the ball is defective and rising more than it should. Notice I did not say three standard deviations. This is because a three standard deviation number may not be enough to even break even in Keno. This might give you one ball on which to bet if you were lucky enough to find such a machine.

Also look for the same type of deviation in numbers that don't appear - a ball can be off in a ball draw because it may be overweight.

Sorry to hear about Bob - I met him and his father many years ago when I was in HS in the Pittsburgh area.

Thanks John, good point about a devation of cold numbers & potential overweight ball (ball defective as stated in original post )

NOTA BENE:                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Usually when a game doesn't go according to negative expectaions, especially when winning player regularly overcomes the odds, the management  starts an investigation begings to see what went wrong with the game.

And Bye the Bye, on a few occassions, I found that the ostensible 20 ball draw was actually 19 total but after the mishap was brought to supervisor's attentio, they still refused to cancel game results.

Got a letter from Las Vegas today, Stupak died last Friday at Desert Springs Hospital . He was 67.

Hey Coin Toss, for old timers like us, we will miss the colorful character of a Bob Stupak - there are not not many of these gambling mavricks around anymore but he left his mark w/the 1,100 ft Stratosphere Tower.

In your gaming career did you ever deal on property for the Strato, w/Stupak or Ichon???

Remember Stupak's Polish Roulette promotions with no zeros? The man had more angles then a book on geometry!

For all his eccentecities, as a fun Vegas icon, Bob that will be missed.....

Wonder what what his last bet was?

The "Polish Maverick" was a maverick indeed. He ran for office in Vegas, and published his own newspaper.

I met him a couple of times but never worked for him.

Working in the dice pits as I did, we always had a paranoia about people who had never played craps learning to play Crapless Craps at "Vagrant World" and then coming to regular casinos to play craps.

Vagrant World was Las Vegan for Vegas World, which if I remember right might have burned down before the Stratosphere went up. Before Vegas World Stupak had another casino on the same site which did burn up.

All three were in the same location, a section of town called "The Naked City" by Metro. After Castro emptied Mariel prison and the "Marielitos" came to the U.s. many of those who came to Vegas lived in the neighborhood behind Vegas World.

I remember when he made that $1,000,000 bet on the Super Bowl. He took Cincinnati and the points, and it was one of the few Super Bowls up to that time when the winning team won but didn't cover the pointspread. The Bengals oost the game but covered the spread. He made the bet at Little Caesar's. Not Caesar's, folks, but Lilttle Caesar's. Those of you who know Vegas.......

He also loved to invite card counters to come play 21 and had single and double deck games when everyone else went to four and six deck shoes. His philosophy was he'd have the dealers deal down to the last card and if you know there's a number card and a "paint" left in the deck it didn't matter because only God knew which one was coming out first!

Apprceiate the official bio report but more importenly your personal imput and valuable experiences at gambling ground zero. It's certainly nice to communicate with people who share "Thanks for the Memories" in Viva Las Vegas, but even more important, with those who's commetaries make sense.

Sometimes if you copy an article and post it the picture goes in auomatically. That's how the pic of Stupak went in.

But usually, when you see a pic you want to use, right clock on it, a box appears, then click on Properties. That will show a web adddress for the pic. Copy that to your clipsboard by highlighting it and pressing the ctrl and C keys together. (That's the keyboard shortcut for Copy).

Then when you are posting, in the first row of icons immediately below the message box, the fifth one in from the right is a green tree. That's the one for Insert/ Edit image.

Click on that, then paste the URL for the pic into the top box - Image URL, and then click Insert at the bottom of that box.
