Tonight on WGN-TV when they showed the drawing, they did the Pick 3, the Pick 4, then the Lotto (Pick 6), skipping the Little Lotto (Pick 5), which always comes before the Lotto.. When they announced the Lotto they said the jackpot was $12 million, but it wan't, it was $7 million. Then they said due to technical difficultires the Little Lotto results would be shown later in the broadcast. Illinois still uses balls, thank goodness, but so much for a pre-test I guess. It's Lotto, not horseshoes or artillery! Close doesn't count! If you don't trust the lottery don't play it..I use to go to the race track with a friend in the 80's and he would say the races was fixed..To me that's a sign of a loser..All the lottery games in every state is regulated and are watched closley..If I thougt the lottery was being unfair and shenannigans was happeniing I'd quit so until the lottery is not proved they are cheating I'll keep buying tickets..

How can the lotteries be unfair? Someone wins, if someone does not win, it rollsover. When it rollsover, more play and a greater chance of someone winning the pot. Since it is a quasigovernment corporation, it is not like a casino to where the house benefits. In a lottery, the house is not the workers or the owners. A non-winner does not benefit them.

i happen to know someone who works for KPMG (the auditors of the illinois state lottery) and he says its all on the up and up. everything is tested, the balls are weighed before and after the drawings, the machines are tested etc etc. he said it was almost overkill how much security they take into account for this. i should ask about the raffle drawings tho - a lottery official told me a computer makes the selections - GREAT! why wouldnt they at least have the 4 million dollar winners drawn live on TV??? doesnt make sense...

tiggs95, bomatt, I didn't say fixed, I said shenannigans. The pre-test is supposed to amke sure there are no glitches, no mechanical (ball drawing) mishaps, so the live drawing goes smoothly. Do a search and there are plenty of pre-test discussions here on LP. It's Lotto, not horseshoes or artillery! Close doesn't count! Hey Coin Toss, Did they show it live or taped later in the broadcast? I'm not saying it's fixed either but opportunities can arrise if you know what I mean. Stranger things have happened with a wink and a nod (I grew up in Chicago). . The water ain't never gonna run clear til you get the pigs out of the creek.

rdgrnr, We're way downstate (closer to Nashville, TN than Chicago) so we don't get the news every night, but when we do the drawing is live at 9:22 PM Central Time. When they have technical difficulties they jjst post the numbers from that drawing on the screen later on in the broadcast, like they do when there's a Cubs, White sox, Bears, Bulls, or Blackhawks game on. As I've posted beore, this happens often enough to make you wonder. Last night was the first time I've seen them just skop a game though. On any night when there's all the state dtawings, Pick 3, 4, Little Lotto, and Lotto, if there's a snag they usually just stop right there, gice the technical difficulties message, and say results will be posted later on. Also, I still think it was odd that she said the jackpot was $12 million when it was $7 million. Maybe she was mixing it up with tonight's Mega. It's Lotto, not horseshoes or artillery! If memory serves me correctly ( and it usually doesn't) are there not about three people from the Kentucky lottory in jail right now convicted of rigging one of Kentucky's lotto games? Something about putting a drop or two of water in several ping pong balls which restricted the chances of them popping up? If anyone knows the correct state, please make the necessary correction. And to those of you who trust explicitedly in RNG states conducting a fair drawing, keep on trusting. I, for one, will not until there is more openess.

Well, tonight was an instant reply for the Little Lotto....."technical difficulties". Guess they didn't get the machine fixed in a day. tiggs95, Search this site or the internet for "Pennsylvania lottery scandal". In fact, I think there's soemrhing in the News forum from a few months back about the guy who was involved having passed away. It's Lotto, not horseshoes or artillery! Close doesn't count! Nobody won the Lil lotto jackpot tonight so i guess by your post the fix wasn't in. It was an equipment failure maybe it was operator error. In Maryland they will not be showing live televised drawings on Sunday nights during football season. There is no live televised drawings on Saturday midday because of cartoons some Fed law which states no gambling activities can be aired while children's programing is scheduled nor are the Saturday midday drawings archived on the MD lottery website TelePrompTer viewer. There are no televised live drawing whenever there is a national live event taking place during the times when MD lottery should be drawing the balls. Big John says. You don't hit the number.
