My respect and greatest thanks to all vets and especially those currently on active duty. No greater love exists than when a man leaves his family and lays down his own life for his country and its freedom. Godspeed and Many thanks again. SM1

I have combined another Veteran's Day post into this one. (This one was started first.) I also wanted to say THANK YOU to all the Veterans who have protected this country and our way of life. You have my highest respect for your willingness to sacrifice everything you have for a country that often acts like it doesn't care. I was flying home from a trip to Missouri this weekend, and a very patriotic thing happened in the Kansas City airport. The Continental crew actually called for any military personnel to board at the same time as the "Elite" members. Later on, as I passed through the gate to board the plane (no Elite status for me!), I was sure to say THANKS to the gate crew for boarding the military folks first, it was a really nice touch.

You're welcome, Everyone! Last night when I was leaving church there were a lot (maybe 30 or so) kids that had a sign saying "Thank you Veterans". They were all saluting! It brought tears to my eyes then as it does now. I stopped walking and gave them a sharp return salute. That was very special to me. | | |
