I know that South Carolina just recently voted to add Mega Millions to Powerball next year, 2010. Which states currently offer both Powerball and Mega Millions, or which states are planning to offer both in the near future ??

Thank you for this information. This is what I wanted to know. I rarely read the Lottery News forum, but I guess I should start paying more attention to this very informative forum.

That article is a good article, but it isn't up-to-date. Idaho, Texas and a couple of others states, have recently decided to have both Powerball and Mega Millions. So, it is a good idea to keep up with the news stories that Todd posts, so you can see which states are going to offer both games. sorry about that i could have sworn that Todd would update the list as they came on board. I'm going to post new articles for any updates at this point; the first story was like a baseline since there was so much news to cover at once. Plus, it's getting buried at this point. After things get formalized between MM and PB (they still only have an agreement in principle), USA Mega will eventually become the best source of up-to-date info on which states belong to which game(s).

I'm close to the border so I can buy both anyway. I've cut back on them since they went to those rediculus odds... I like MM better, but wish that they would raise their minimum prize to $3 instead of $2...... Their cash amount is better IMO... MarkP

I am currently getting my master's degree at the University of Georgia, but I am probably going to move back to Virginia and be a teacher next year. This is cool because Virginia is going to have both. This is a far-out guess, but I think Georgia is going to cross-sell, since they used to have Powerball. Unless I state otherwise, I am referring to numbers in straight order. I cannot predict lottery numbers, except that there will be no winning number tomorrow in Nevada. In a lot of states, lotteries benefit education. That makes the REAL winners the only people who can't play!

Hi, FYI: Washington State passed Powerball bill last April. Powerball will land here in Washington State in February. Ticket sales will start on the last Sunday in January. So, now the people in Washington can chooes to buy from Mega Millions and Powerball. We already have Mega Millions since 2002. When I first played Powerball in Oregon back in 1992, I've always wishes that Washington State would join it. Now it's happening. My dream come true!! Now I don't have to send my $$$$ and Powerball prediction numbers to my family-friend in Oregon. I can do it all up here in Seattle. Thought to let you know when will Powerball begin here in Washington State. Great News!!!

I live between Pennsylvania and West Virginia, and though they have said they are open to selling both, neither of those states have any formal agreement.

Tennessee will be adding MM in January but it won't affect me much because I drive to VA once a month to get MM now and I'll still have to drive there to get my Cash5 anyway because I don't like the computers in Tennessee. I wish the TN Lottery people would take a look at all the TN tags at all the VA border stores and realize how many players and how much money they're losing. There are long lines of people from TN in there and they're not just buying MM. A lot of people like me just don't trust those computers. .
