So did anybody win anything yesterday??
My girlfriend "borrowed" the $4 I had in my pocket so I didn't play anything yesterday. Two things are certain, you can't win if you don't play and girlfriends are a money losing proposition.

I only got back almost half from what I spent on scratchers. Did awful on the $20 and $30 games and better with the smaller $2 and $10 game. Was disappointed with results and would never do that again.

Sorry to hear about that!
Which $20 ticket did you buy. I have had awful luck with the money mania. Totally crap. But the win it all, has been great for not only me but my husband as well and he really only buys scratchers occasionally. He bought one and won $100. Bought another and won $20. The last one he bought he gave to me and I won $100 as well. The one I bought for myself, I won $400. lol I know...I am scared to press my luck because over the holiday I had 2 win it all's and ended up not winning anything on one and $20 on the other.
The $30 ticket is tricky. I have bought 4 already and 2 were duds and I broke even on the other two. It really stung losng 30 bucks so quickly.
I've also won a few dollars here and there playing the breast cancer cure scratcher...nothing major just 4 to 10 dollar here or there.
I've also kinda fallen for the "set for life" tickets because that $100,000 for 20 years looks very sweet. However, I might give it up becaue that game has not been good to me at all. I've pretty much broke even on like 2 tixs and the other 6 I've lost completely. My ego gets the best of me with this scratcher for some strange reason. lol I am just always tempeted to buy a card when I see a machine sells them but like I said, "set for life" seems to hate my guts.
All in all, I bought $120 worth of scratchers for Xmas and ended up losing $40 which ain't so shabby but I was hoping to actually come out ahead.

The Set For Life games tends to have fewer prizes overall as most of the money goes into that top prize at long odds so they tend to give a rather unsatisfactory feel in terms of winning intermediate prizes. The same is true of games so as the $50 game in Texas where a lot of the money goes into the top $10 million dollar prizes. Games such as the $20 Blockbuster are capitalized with a lot more money and the $100, $200, and $1,000 prizes occur more frequently. Even the Super Set For Life game which had a big top prize ($500,000 per year for 15 years) originally at very long odds but now shows a 1 in 626,277 odds of winning the last remaining unclaimed top prize simply because it's over 91% sold will give a very unsatisfactory feel because it was structured with fewer of the intermediate prizes. I find it's those $100, $200, $500 and $1,000 wins that gives the game the best play, those $20, $25 and $30 prizes just don't cut it for me.
I think that in general, it's best to go for the highly promoted featured games like Blockbuster over perennial games like the set for life games as the featured games will have higher capitalization.
Despite what you hope, you have to expect to lose the money that you spend on the lotteries.
However, every now and then I break down and buy another Super Set For Life ticket because the odds work out so well even though I'm never happy with the game, it's even hard to scratch and chances are that one remaining top prize ticket just got torn up during shipping or some mean guy has it in their safety deposit box till the game ends or at least till the new year for tax reasons.

Amen, brother! You can add wives to that list.
"...a chance to push everything aside, the circumstances that've controlled our lives, and do it our way now. Good, bad or otherwise. You'll maybe get lost in it, tied up in it a little bit, but if you work your way through that the real you shows up, I think. Maybe what's at your core deep down, maybe that comes out. Maybe that's what it's about." Mike Pace
