What would you consider the best way to spend $20 on Scratchers?

A single $20 ticket? Twenty $1 tickets?  Two $10's? A combination of a $10, a $5 and $1's? Some $2's and $3's mixed in?

How would you spend $20 on Scratchers?

Okay....I need a plan..since I can't go hogwild.

First, I wait for the mean lady to come in and buy the losers, she's good at that...then I step up and buy:

1 - $10

1 - $5

1 - $3

1 - $2

I hate $1 tickets...even $2 tickets unless that's about all that's left and then buy at least 5 or 10. For your example, I'd spread it out.

Keep in mind that often times buying consecutive tickets can pay off a bit more.

At least that is in part what I read here, but from experience I find it to be true as well. Only catch is, it can sometime be long and payful in between winners.

But using this method on $2 tickets is much cheaper than using it on $10 or $20 ones.

I once won $50 from a $20 so I took it in and played a string of $10 jobs. Didnt hit jack squat and after $80 I went out to hit the atm again. When I came back a few minutes later, the clerk said 'somebody' had come in and bought 2 of the tickets I was playing. Won $30.

meanwhile, a nice old man came in and bought something like 10 or 20 $2 tickets. Hit for $50 in no time.

Had I spent $20 on that instead of $80, I would have been better off.

plus buying the smaller denom tickets may last a bit longer, prolong the excitement.

Your plan seems reasonable, spreading it around some.

I've just had such terrible luck with the lower denominations that I would probably go with 2 tens  or 4 fives. Not that I've had better luck with those but if I lose at least I lost with a shot at a bigger prize.

Yeah, I've had a little luck with those 20 dollar scratchers too but always put it back going for something bigger.

Losing seems to be more of an affront when it's done 20 bucks at a time with immediate results. It doesn't seem to hurt as much to lose $20 on a draw game later as it does on one  scratcher right now for some reason, lol.

I don't like playing $1.00 scratchers either (what's the point?) but I will play $20.00, $10. 00 and $5.00 

I like to buy my $5.00 tickets in threes and $10.00 tickets in Twos and of course one $20.00

I like to mix them up  I would buy $ 20 twice a month, on the opposite week would do $10 and 2 $5.00

didn't buy as many when i stayed in MI, NC has a much better selection

Hi,I have been playing lottery,plus scratch tickets since 1998.I play $20.00 a week just in scratch tickets and usually less than $10.00 for big lotteries.Here in MA there are 170 scratch tickets and keeps getting bigger all the time.I look at the $5.00 tickets and find one I like,meaning has the most payouts of amounts of 10,000 and up (820-$10,000 26-$100,000 10-$1,000,000) and play 2 at beginning of week and 2 at end ($20.00) if I hit on any I keep playing depends on how much I win or if i hit two tickets in  row.So far in 2000 I hit for $10,000. plus several smaller amounts up to $500.00 then I hit again in 2009 for $10,000.00 again several smaller amounts then hit jan of this year for $10,000. as for big games MM/PB/megabucks nothing higher than $100.00 SO FAR LOL I stick with same scratch tickets till game ends.I tend to do better at Casino's.Of all the States I have played scratch tickets Ma seems to have best payouts,just my opinion. I mix it up every week.  I like doing 4 $5's or sometimes just a big jumble of 1's, 2's , and 5's.  Haven't had a lucky $20 ticket in awhile so I've been avoiding them.

I am scared to do a $20 scratch off...I usually do a $5 one..and then lots of $2's and lately I been doing good on the $1's.

Funny, I just did this last night!

I bought 1 $5, 2 $2, and and 11 $1 scratch offs here in GA.  I didn't win any cash but I did win 4 "Tickets" which equated to $4.  Since I got $4 back, I decided to check out the GA Lottery site and found out that the majority of scratch off top prize jackpots were just about turned in.

and the list goes on.  But, whose to say that I don't get that last winning jackpot?  LOL!

sometimes i get scratchers usually the 5 dollar ones, mostly somrthing i do at Christmas. maybe the next question should be ..Where do you like to scratch?

One $20.  I always take my tickets home to scratch them...usually after we've fed the cats, started dinner, watched Wheel of Fortune, etc., lol.  I get in no particular hurry.  I like to savor the thoughts of winning.  The only time I scratch the tickets in the store is if I am buying out of state.
