excel pro's-- and All---
How does one find the Frequecy of 3 digit numbers???
Is there different frequencys to a group of numbers??Like how many times a number hits? What do you divide it by?
Hits/by number of draws??? Trying to find out which
one is the BEST to go by in EXCEL 2007-----???
What is the Best FORMULA to use in EXCEL to get the frequency???
We searched here on LP butt did not find what we wanted...
I think maybe a good one is How manytimes a number hits
divided by the number of draws??? Butt how many number of
draws is average??? 20 or 30 draws?? Because I think that
one has to find what works the best in how many draws/hits..
Can we get a good formula in excel?????Thank you

Bob?
Figuring out this frequency is "VERY TOUGH"...Ive been working at this problem using a hypergeometric distribution formula but what kills it is getting the repeat percentage factored in correctly...I mean heck it might be impossible at this point...I'm still working on it though...I'll let you know in a few more months....

Hi Crow,
Thank you for your input....
Here on the Michigan Lotto they have a way to get the Frequency of 3 and 4 digit and all the 5-6 digit lotto games....
Butt you can go from 7 draws to whenever the lottery started.....So If anyone has a IDEA let me know....
The way I do it is go back 90 days on the Michigan web sight....I even wrote them to find out how they do it
butt they said it would take to much time to explain....Even ask if I could get a formula butt no way.....
Guess I will just go to the web sight and get the frequency from them....Butt I still want to know how they get the frequency?????
How des one get the frequency????? Any answers would be a way to start....
Thank you

I assume you are asking for someway to get the frequency without actually counting them yourself; am I correct?
If you think you can or if you think you can't you are right!
Today could be the day!

This might be an idea for setting up percentages when number in group may occur by skip level
copy and paste to a notepad and the columns may properly align.
You can see by skip levels the percentage of possible return for that sum.

When I am done searching sums I can go in what my software calls the structure report to get a report on that sum.
sum 8 draws tracked 398

then I can look at what number groups fell in that sum and the skip levels. This will indicate the activity of the groups

When I am done searching sums I can go in what my software calls the structure report to get a report on that sum.
sum 8 draws tracked 398
hits 67
Hit avg 5.94
most skips 26
then I can look at what number groups fell in that sum and the skip levels. This will indicate the activity of the groups

My software is not capable of that. I understand their is software out there that is capable of doing that.
Numbers are where you find them.

Afternoon Bob,
If I understand what your asking correctly, you want to know if the frequency of a draw, either a Pick 3 or Pick 4 can have a frequency? Is this correct? If so, I keep this info on the local games. I have what I call "patterns". When the numbers are drawn, my spreadsheet counts the number of times that that specific sequence of numbers is drawn. I keep track of the draws in 11 draw, 27 draw, 59 draw, and the Entire table catagories. For jackpot games, I also have a Column catagory. As for the groups, I am so far using a very simple formula to tell me which numbers come up the most often.
I hope this can help, although I may have misunderstood what your asking, if so please disregard.
The only DUMB question is the one question you DID NOT ask...
