Sure does make one wonder. In PA the Q, P, Z, B, K, J are losers....some people scratch off enough to reveal a letter - if a loser, they toss it w/o
playing the game at all. I felt bad for the people that didn't know this when PA changed the method of identifying winners. Used to be parenthesis
were used with the winning dollar amount inside them. When they changed to letter codes, some people were still using the long line of numbers
to identify their winners....I wonder how many were tossed. I don't think the lottery did a good enough job of letting players know of the new
change.
It's been awhile since the letter codes started, I would think the word got out amongst players but I wonder if PA will change yet again, the method
of winner identification. If they do, they need to let players know in an effective way so there is no confusion.
I saw a ticket from Maine once...the letter codes spelled out $200 - nowhere on that ticket was anything that matched to win $200. I guess the
best way to be sure is totally understand the game being played and if you have a match, you have a winner.
Speaking of understanding...lol....PA had some tricks up its sleeve with some of the more recent tickets. Winner take All and Triple Bingo for example.
LOW...mighty LOW.....they included a play area above the normal play area that seemed to be involved in the game and NOT playable. Even the
scratch part of the play area seemed to be of a different material...still scratchable but blended in. Pretty bad - if that was the intention...to deceive.
