Funny you mention that. The store owner next to my work said he use to own a store in GA. Told me he feels it is the best state to play. I wonder if any GA people can confirm.

As a Tennessean traveilng through GA a few times a year, I can tell you I lose on GA tickets just like TN ones lol. However, I dont play as much in GA obviously (heck I dont even play much here in TN) But what I DO LOVE about GA is their top prizes -- they beat the snot out of any state I have been to. Living in TN and traveling to SC sometimes I get to check out NC, GA, and SC lotteries. I havent seen much of NC but it seems to be on the lower-scale as far as high prizes go. SC as well. KY has the absolute worst I have ever seen. From my observations, this seems to be the breakdown of what a $5 and $10 scratcher will get you in these states (SC doesnt have any $20 ones I guess): $5 GA: 300,000 TO 500,000 SC: 75,000 TO 100,000 TN: 70,000 TO 150,000 (usual is 100,000) NC: About the same as SC I think KY: 40,000 ? $10 GA: Up to $1million SC: Up to $200,000 TN: 200,000 TO 250,000, Though once they had a 500,000 one NC: About the same as SC KY: 100,000 So as far as that goes, GA seems to be the best bang. Stay far far away from KY Scratchoffs (thought they do somteims have a raffle which is more than I can say for TN Lottery)

My worse roll was #120ish on a $300 roll and best was right around even. I have never profited even a $1 on a roll. Think the best was around a 90% return.

I got back only $135 on one roll, and the other roll I bought I got back $240, so I have had mixed results. I am thinking it might be a good idea on the newer tickets. I will tell you one thing, on the bigger win, I specifically requested a good book, and told them that I did not want junk. Did that have anything to do with it? I don't know because I have only bought two rolls, and on the first I did not specify. These were both $20 games, and had 15 tickets each (all rolls in GA are $300). Kind of makes me wonder. Maybe I should buy a few more and test the waters. Just remember, by and by, the average "good" winner will be around 4-5x the price of the ticket, so with $5 tickets you will end up with more $20 winners, whereas you are likely to hit the $100+ winners on $20 tickets. TheOtherOne is right as far as what the top prizes are in GA. Those numbers match my experience. I keep looking for patterns with no real good luck. And yes, the $20 rolls do cut down on scratching time. The $20 tickets in Georgia all have top prizes of between 2.5 and 5 million.
