Definitely cutting into my budget. Really it Is the principle of them doing this. I normally spend 10-15 on avg per draw on PB , MM and Tennessee cash.
Now I'm strictly sticking to only 1 - 3 tickets on PB. that's only $6 to them, max.
Hey I appreciate the notion, and it is nice to see less numbers on the slip. But doubling the price? For something 99% of us will never hit? I don't think so.
And the real knife in the back is the new pay distribution. What a joke. If I read correctly, of you have power play and hit 3 numbers plus PB, the max you get is just $200??? Seems like before you would hit up to $500 with multiplier of 5. I don't play power play (and sure as hell won't shell out $3 just to lose extra) but it just isn't fair.
Then you have $4 win if you get 1 + PB. That didn't even change. Can't give us $5 there PB FOLKS???
I have already allocated my extra dough to TN cash and Mega Millions.
My suggestion to PB: keep the $2 price. But give us TWO lines as opposed to one.

Many out there must be feeling the jolt of sticker shock. Imagine going in and asking for 5 on the Powerball and find out you now have to cough up $10.00 instead of the usual $5.00. I haven't played since the change and don't plan on it till my threshold has been met, $10,000,000,000.00 jackpot and that will be a very long time given the rate of growth in the jackpot. I rarely used to play Powerball, but have bought some tickets recently now that the jackpots are getting higher. So, I guess you could say that I'm playing more.

Playing a lot less at $2 per ticket. But if the jackpot is large enough, I am willing to spend 4 cents at a shot at $2 million (cash and after taxes). That's right! My cost for a group play purchase of 1 ticket is only 4 cents. Now that is a game well worth playing - 4 cents can win $2 million. Good luck everyone.

My betting hasn't changed. Still play my same #'s and EP's. My mindset is that if you have been playing certain number's for years, to just suddenly quit or cut back throws a monkey wrench into the grand scheme of things. Stay the course, your numbers will eventually pay off. MONEY is the root of all Easy lifestyle, Volunteerism in community, Instant immunity from poverty, Living & giving large.

Before Powerball went to $2, I used to play exactly one ticket for a draw IF the single millions digit of the advertised jackpot matched the ones digit of any of the three or four days leading up to the draw (for instance, if either Sunday, yesterday, today, or tomorrow ended in "0", I would play tomorrow's draw) OR if the draw in the current run is at or past the draw number in the previous run when the jackpot was hit (for instance, the last Powerball jackpot was hit on the 10th draw, while tomorrow's draw is #13, I would play if the cost per ticket were still $1). However, since a ticket is now $2, it is now matched digits AND draw number is at or above the number of draws required to win the previous jackpot. The matched digits OR draw number >= previous jackpot draw number won does, however, still apply to the Mega Millions game, which is still $1 (but since 32 does not end in 4, 5, 6, or 7, and Mega is only on draw 4 in the current run VS the prior jackpot being won on draw 8, I am not playing Mega tonight either).
Of course, if the Powerball CASH jackpot is at or above a record (currently it is $240 million, which is held by Mega Millions), then I will purchase a ticket regardless of any other stipulation.
