If a state came out with this pricey gem, would you consider parting with a "C" note? Obviously for that amount the odd's should be at least 1:2 of getting any prize. Let's say the jackpot was for $50 million, with second & third prizes of $500,000 & $250,000 and many more smaller cash prizes. I believe the current highest price for a scratcher is $50 (I heard this while watching "How the lottery changed my life" last Sunday). I didn't catch what state(s). Any takers? Sorry to say, I probably would - ONCE. The odds would have to be close to what you posted above though!

I would take a shot, I would probably buy it more than once for however long it was running.. Would be great if it offered at least 3 main jackpots(50 mil) and maybe 10(1mil) second prizes

With the odd's of 1:2, I would consider buying two ticket's, to hopefully guarantee me walking away with something. Probably not. I'd really feel like I got took if I didn't get anything back on a $100 ticket. And you know they'd have to sell a hell of a lot of losing tickets before they even put that $50 million ticket out there. . I will not comply. I will never submit.

I believe it's Texas with the $50 scratcher. PA had a $25 ticket at one time, I liked that one. I have to say I'd be willing to try a $100 ticket. The prizes and odds would have to be real good though.. none of this 1/4.80 crap or worse.

As I began this forum with the hypothetical 1:2 odd's, and probably more realistically also at least 10 or more lower tier prizes of $1 million.
It would have to be a population rich state or multi-states as well, to sell the 10-20 million tickets necessary to generate those prize levels. Probably Mass CA or TX. The minimum prize, in my opinion shouldn't be just $100, more like $150-200. Just getting your money back for the ticket isn't winning. My state of NH had a $30 scratcher which was phased out last year. Wonder why? I think a $100 scratch-off would have to guarantee a winner on every tickets if nothing more than $5 and that would still be like buying a $95 scratch-off and winning nothing but the players wouldn't feel as stupid. With some games continuing to raise the cost of their tickets it seems the states are just testing the limit of stupidity and greed of lottery players. * that which happens most * * is most likely to happen again *

Add a 0 to the $5 and I MIGHT consider it for Christmas, RJOh.

If you followed my response previous to your comment, I believed that there should be a MINIMUM cash prize of $150-200, with 1:2 odd's on a $50 million dollar first prize tier. (Ideally three 50 mill. prizes, 10 $1 mill. prizes). These are of course hypotheticals only. Yes Ill buy them but they wont ever have $100 scrathers with GOOD (1 in 2) odds because clerks would buy them and there would be many poachers by the machine who jump on the next ticket if they see 2 losers in a row 2012 Biggest Winner: $1,000 ( $20 Gold Rush Tripler 02/20/12 )

That is so true, didn't think of that. People just might kill for next tickets. The poachers and the poached. Maybe not a good idea afterall.
