I do not see why they have to switch to $2 a bet becuase mega millions is fine at $1. People still like to play for $1 and so do I. As you can see mega millions is growing just fine with $1 ticket sales. But if they do change I will play just my one line and hope for the best.-weshar75 | | |

Speculation is that Mega Millions will be bumping up the cost of their tickets to follow the lead of Powerball to $2/ticket. Timing is not known exactly, expect by May of this year at latest.  Will this effect your playing strategies, if at all, now that the playing field will be leveled between Powerball and Mega Millions?  Do you think that with this increase in ticket prices, that Mega Millions will have an advantage over Powerball jackpots?  If you have always played just Mega Millions, how will this effect your future betting?  If you are one of the players that have boycotted Powerball for their price increase, will you now boycott Mega Millions as well?  What is your source for "speculation" and "May of this year at the latest?" Even if they decided today that Mega Millions tickets were going to increase to $2, it would be impossible to implement by May. | | |

I proally wouldnt play as much until there were larger jackpots... Powerball jackpots arent at all what I had hoped for, yeg more of what I expected unfortunately... I would only buy two maybe 3 tickets a week for each and just play hoosier lottery | | |

By the way, are you the mysterious Feb. 11 winner of the record R.I. Powerball jackpot? From industry buzz and twitter from MUSL there has been speculation of a $1 increase. This is not an official statement from Mega Millions itself. As far as the "May" date, Through googling several articles about lottery price increases, this was a projected window of time that MM might consider implementing the increase. I would agree with you, that May would be a short period of time to accomplish. | | |

It won't effect me in the least as I don't even play it at a buck a game. We have no PB here in Calif. I stick to Fantasy 5 where the odds are still high but not in outer space range like these bigger games. at least you have the Fantasy 5 lottolaughs, Oklahoma only has PB, Mega & HL we don't have a state lotto game but if we did I would be all over it...LOL... | | |
