I dont get why people here dont like SM. Better to win $1m at 1:3.8m than $250k at 1:3.9m with MM or now with PB forcing you to waste $2 1:5.1m. Pick10 is $500k 1:8.9m and yes, Take5 does have higher low prizes, but jp is low, and is often shared by 2 or even more winners. In fact, now MM is $25 annuity, thus 3.8 x 25 = 95. But cash is lower jp, thus SM is better then even PB.

It's the lottery playing public of entire state of New York that does not like the game. I think it's due to the low payouts for the lower tier prizes. Winning 500 bucks for having 5 numbers stinks. I think players are more inclined to play Win4 than SM. The odds there for a JP win are 10,000:1 with a payout of $5,000. Why did the state go so cheaply on SM lower tier payouts?? Maybe if it paid $10,000 for 5 numbers you'd see more people play it. But 500 bucks is pathetic. Winning a Jackpot - unlikely but POSSIBLE!

And how many Pick10 jp winners have there been in the past year? I bet less than SM. Since SM started there have been more winners than Pick10 in 5 years. If SM lower prizes are bad, then Pick10's jp prize is horrible!!! No point to play it. I'd rather take $1m on SM than $250k on MM or $500k - pick10, or $50k - Take5.
