The first part of the questions makes no sense because we never get to vote on any policies. And the winners will still pay a fraction under 35% in Federal taxes regardless whether they support the current policies or not (as if their support actually means anything).

That's why they asked "What would Jesus do with your winnings" and why the first answer was a cheap shot. I suppose it's part of the territory when the only lottery related posts some people can make are "congrats to the winner" and "I hope you win".

Not to change the subject but why hasn't a big jackpot lottery winner written a book and documented the letters and emails they received after winning? " Letters to a lottery winner" . Seriously.  I want to read such a book.  I will write this book if I win.

I never said continue.  The question was, "Should you vote for and support policies that benefit only the rich as you wait to win the lottery?"

The question is really asking should we vote and support policies that work against our own financial interest, while we wait to win the lottery. 

During this slow moving recovery the rich have pocketed over 60% of the incomes. A democracy can't sustain itself without hope in the minds of the poor and middle class people. Ronald Regan even knew this basic fact.

My answer is that if everyone worked against their own interest, there would be no functioning country to enjoy your winnings.
