Since we cannot post links: If you look under media, winner news for 6/14/2012 in the official Florida website you will see a "BRANDON MAN WINS THE TRIPLE CROWN CLAIMS THIRD LOTTERY PRIZE IN SIX MONTHS "
Wow first I want to say congrats to the winner especially with his luck hitting a $1 million, $20,000 and $25,000 from the same gas station. But it is just me or when you do some research you see that the guy or his family owns that gas station then what comes to mind is could this be a case of a clerk keeping track of losing tickets from the customers. Some members have posted of similar activity where they play and walk back in and the next scratch ticket number suddenly disappears as the clerk hide it as it might be a possible winner. I know it might be me blowing some steam but I just don't think it's fair since I have experience the same with some Gas stations where there’s no one in the store and as I scratch my loosing ticket when I go to the counter the clerk jacks it, yes I have approach the management but I think they might have been on it and I know it’s all random and there’s no guaranteed but I must say they do have a large advantage.
Since I cannot put links here Google the following and you will see that either the 3x winner own or a family member with his name name owns the gas station where he keeps winning
"Jump Start Gas & Deli" "Salem Abdallah"
If you google the following that is a picture of the winner

I saw that, too. My reaction is the same as yours. I don't like this situation at all. I have witnessed clerks taking the next ticket after several losers--- and I only play the $20 games so it really ticks me off. There is definitely something wrong here. I am happy for those who become successful entrepeneurs, but we know all too well that many, many, many, many, families with last names such as the last name of this gentleman come to this country and get HUGE tax incentives to open up small businesses, which always happen to be these convenience stores. The stores get lotto commission for sales, they get tax incentives to set up shop in the first place.......heck, it's easy to see where all the spare money comes from to allow these business owners the time to sit and watch these games--or to just go ahead and buy rolls of scratch offs. Lotto officials are not allowed to play the lottery, why can lottery retailers themselves play? I know I sound like a hater right now, but there have just been too many instances where grand-prize winners are found to be family, if not direct ownership, of stores like this where top prizes are won. It's ridiculous! Maybe I need to move to Pakistan so that the American Gov't will give me 50k to come back and open a gas station! There's an idea! I'll charge the highest prices for gas in the area, I won't speak English, I'll peddle my canned beer to the immigrant customers who come into my store all day, and I'll sit back and watch some guy who really actually had to earn his paycheck come into my store, buy 5 straight losing Billion Dollar Blockbuster tickets, and then I'll snag the next one or two of them for myself, using the American taxpayer dollars that fund my business, and I'll win a jackpot of a million dollars---and then I'll funnel that money right back into Pakistan so that my brother can move here and do the same thing!!! What a country, America!!!!

giving my two cents on this...I think its great to win..and if I hit 12 times in a row even better..store owner or not..I think lottery retailers and lotto offcials should be able to play the lottery...especially the jackpot games...assuming all parties walk in integrity, honesty, and truth..because if the jackpot games are truly random based on the ball set drawings then evervybody should be able to play..When it comes to scratch offs..I think store owners and family in which family is quite subjective shouldnt play at the store they own or work at..but thats only scratch off rules...plus there should be some kind of policy&procedures aka ethics that employers of lottery retail should set for their employess..simply put..no gambling on the clock..I have been in 7eleven as an employee got off from work and stood around with me scratching..we were both trying to beat each other to a winning a ticket playing the same game at one point..I didnt have a problem with that..but now I see where buying scratch offs from the place you work or own jeopardize the integrity of the game and take the fun away from others...well..im one who doesnt like to point out problems and not offer a solution..so whatever its worth I will send the florida lottery a letter stating my problem not with this guy winning but the possibilty of a breach in the ethics of the game..I dont want to sound ignorant but I was wondering why I see so many foreigners working and owning so many gas stations it use to be the mom and pop..but now I see them owning 7eleven you know more franchise reputable gas stations..I like to see all prosper but if its not done in integrity honety and truth..then they should be prosecuted just like any other criminal or law breaker..well thats if they dont have diplomatic immunity...lol...well money making wishes to all...lets make some 5 star summer vacation money...Peace:)

I don't live in Florida, but I can tell you pretty much the same thing happens in Pennsylvania. I spoke to a store clerk a few days ago and she said if the other clerks notice someone losing off a bunch of tickets from the same game, they'll go and get the next few tickets because it's probable there's a winner. To me, that doesn't seem fair because the clerks have the advantage over the customers in the sense that they can keep track of losing tickets. I, too, understand it's all random, but you see so many store owners on the winners page on the state lottery website. I'm slightly guilty of doing this, but on a much smaller scale. If someone is scratching a losing ticket, I'll buy the kind of ticket they just purchased. My one ticket doesn't amount to much in the long run, but clerks have the ability to pull a lot of winning tickets if that's all they look for all day. I, personally, think that store employees should not be allowed to play the lottery at their respective store, but I don't foresee that law being passed anytime soon.

Thats why I really like the store next to my work. I have mentioned on many of occasions. It is a husband and wife who I believe are Indian. If I ask him what he likes, he will tell me if someone just lost on a few. Sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesnt. I asked him why he doesnt buy them and he said he doesn't like to buy from his own store and doesnt think it is right. He said he will usually go buy from his friends store in Norristown. I know in PA they get 5% on all sales and a % of winners over X amount. I think it is at least $10K, but I can't remember for sure. I think the advantage of store owners isn't the solo purchase but the mass bulk. Say a typical $20 roll is $600 here in PA with a return of $300 at the worst . Well if someone buys 10 and loses and walk away. Now there is $400 left with a worse case $300 return. It is their advantage to buy the rest. Another nice thing the store owner does is if someone hits $10,000 on a ticket. He will settle the pack and send the rest back instead of selling the duds to someone else. Yeah there could be a decent winner, but odds are they are losers. It is really nice to know a store owner looks out for the customer and not shady. If no one saw it, try to find online the guy who does the "To Catch A Predator". He did one on the lottery. Alot of shady owners out there. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=chris+hansen+lotto+scammer&oq=chris+hansen+lotto+scammer&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_l=youtube-reduced.3...28231.31772.0.31959.20.15.4.1.1.0.125.1045.14j1.15.0...0.0.Va3SAQG_FqI . Looks like there is 5 editions. If that doesn't work, goto YouTube and type Chris Hansen Lotto scammer .
