      i guess you could use a countif functions...so countif(range,0)+countif(range,1)+countif(range,2)...and then if you have sum of 3 then it is low...

        0,1,2  WOULD GIVE ME THE LETTER  L FOR LOW DIGIT
        3,4,5,6  WOULD GIVE ME THE LETTER M FOR MEDIUM DIGIT
        7,8,9 WOULD GIVE THE LETTER H FOR HIGH DIGIT

              Try this.

              Assuming that your digit is in cell A1.

              =CHOOSE(A1+1, "L", "L", "L","M", "M", "M","M", "H", "H", "H")
