The people that win a large amount of money, like $ 1000 or more, how long do they wait before going to get their winnings? Are people anxious to get their money, or do they hold off on it? i have read about people doing that in the newspaper and on television.. | | |

Depends on the person, some go right away and some are in no hurry at all. If its a really big jackpot win, some want to get things in order with a lawyer ect.. before turning in the ticket. | | |

I guess it depends on the individual. If I won any life changing amount, I hope I'd have the patience to wait untill I had my ducks in a row. | | |

A few years ago a woman won a jackpot sometime in the summer. She kep the ticket until Chritmas, wrapped it up, gave it to her husband and said, "This is the best I could do this year." Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. One thing all the Law of Attraction books have done is help to sell a lot of lottery tickets! | | |

When mom won $5000 this year she won on a friday and we were at the lottery headquarters on that next monday. So not very long at all.-weshar75

There are times that I'm so confident that my numbers are going to come up, that I show up at the lottery office the day before the drawing to cash in my winnings. Sometimes they give me a hard time, insisting that the numbers haven't been drawn yet!  What's up with that.  Don't they believe anyone now days.  | | |

I wouldn't be able to wait... I'd cash it in as soon as possible I agree people tend not to see a fast moving target very easy. The faster the better. Weren't your numbers drawn when you won $200k in 2007? You might not win again. My QP numbers were drawn in 2007, and it absolutely will happen again. Not a matter of if, but when. I am as confident of that, as you are about your wealth re-distrubition theory!  | | |
