They are called Mirror States; for they draw part or whole numbers of another state regardless of geography, just like a Mirror Image.

Each state can be a Leader and get the number drawn first, or a Follower and get the same number later, but even if they do not play by the rules all the time; it is a concept that can be used to narrow your Play List; which is good news for the wallet .

Last night 196 was drawn in Kentucky and there are 657 combinations using at least one of those digits. That means there is always a 65.7% chance that any state pick-3 will mirror the KY results. Your chart indicates that IA, NJ, WV, CO, ME, OR, and IL all mirror Kentucky; do the statistics show it happens much more often than the 65.7% probability?

The chart also indicates that KY mirrors Oklahoma, but out of the last 50 drawings, in 30 (60%) had at least one of the previous OK digits. In the same 50 drawings, in 33 (66%) at least one of the KY digits repeated. The best statistic barely beat probability.

It's possible that you are using another method to determine the "part or whole numbers from another state" that consistently beats 65.7%probability; what is it?

Cajun said "they draw part or whole numbers of another state" and I believe that means at least one of the digits. Next time you back test, let me know if it mirrors more than 65.7%.

Just wondering .... does vt and mt stand for something other than vermont and montana.... i dont see them on the list... but they are listed as states that mirror fla....thanks

 I'm baffled. I mean, I can see how this applies to "provinces" such as Vermont/New Hampshire which will have the same numbers. As far as one state containing partial numbers from another state, then that applies to all (50) states because we're only dealing with 0-9 in (3) positions. Therefore, all states will have the same numbers in one form or another...it's inevitable.

There is always a 65.7% probability any state lottery pick-3 number will have one or more digits drawn in another state and that's what were told determines why one state mirrors another. I'd like to see the actual statistics showing states mirror another state more than the 65.7% probability.

Okay, I understand a little better now. I was under the impression that this definiton or mirror meant the number (1) being drawn after the number (6), or, like (3) after (8) in a single position. Those are not mirrors, they simply high-low and odd-even variances. However, they are still referred to as being mirrors for some reason.

To be very honest about it, I really couldn't understand the concept so I decided to confirm my personal beliefs. I took a piece of notebook paper and drew the number (8) on it with a marker. Then, I went to the bathroom, held it up to the mirror, and took another look at it. It was still (8) no matter how I held or looked at...I just had to know for my own good.
