New member here... I played six Bonus Crosswords today. I played #s (roll loaded backwards) 42-39, later bought #s 36-35. All losers. Really wondering who bought #38-37. Overall I'm 0 for 7 in this game.

I only bought a few so far.(only won $10 and tkt) I don't really understand the draw of a $500 top prize on a $5 game.
But unfortunately, I guess they did their market research on this one, as there appears to be a selling frenzy. People are buying into it like crazy. Sales are way higher than other comparable games, around 170,000-180,000 tickets a day and peaking around 190,000. Other $5,$10,$20 games settle in around 100,000-120,000 tickets per day before slowly declining to a trickle.
New member here...I played six so far, 78-79 and 31-34 (separate rolls), all losers. I'm not sure whether I like this game or not yet. Good odds on $500 prize but zero chance of a jackpot. Kind of takes some fun out of the game. We're all in this game for the big one, right?

The latest winner of Ca Gold said "she just felt it" when she bought the winning card. I was wondering how one can feel it.... I thought I felt it everytime I buy scratcher...lol wish to "feel it" soon
I've had my best results on CA Gold, there is something about the gold color of the card that gives me a good feeling when I play

I felt lucky today so I bought 3 of the $20 scratcher and won 300 bucks.each of the tickets were a hundred each. Haha I guess it's my lucky day!
New member here. Congratulations on your win. I bought 009, 007 and 006 of the $20 scratchers today (roll loaded backwards). All losers. I wanted to get to 000-001 after hearing your win, but I had to cut my losses for the day. Also, my favorite store recently sold a $25,000 winner. Should I stop playing this store, or stay with it?

Welcome to this thread biggwinner! I appreciate your early contributions and hopefully you can share your insights to the CALottery games
In my opinion, you could still play from the same store but avoid the $5Million Jackpot game until it gets a roll number that is completely different than the roll number its selling (the 7 digit number on the left of the white box, the 1 in the front will be the same so the last 6 digits). It is just an opinion as I never won anything big from scratchers.

I've been to the minimart in FV that they purchased the winning tkt at, except I was there a few months ago playing 1,000,000 Fortune.
Before I read about the GP in FV, got a 100 W with Bonus CW yesterday in Costa Mesa. Crazy tkt. I won the first bonus word for 40 and got a cashbag word that tripled my prize on the bottom puzzle for 60.
Don't think I'll play Bonus CW unless I go to LA. FV is too close to Costa Mesa where I live.

Since I'm new to the forum here is an introduction. About one month ago I had some extra cash so I started playing scratchers and had a very lucky start. I played $5 million jackpot, ca gold and ca black and was up $250 on my first day. But I kept putting my winnings into more scratchers to see how far I could go. I was able to play a lot on my winnings for several days but eventually lost it all.
I tried draw games for a couple weeks and after playing about $150 total I matched 4 of 5 numbers in Fantasy 5 for a win of $224 which put me in the black again. I decided to quit playing draw games and focus solely on scratchers.
Since then I've been reading the forum and learning to play scratchers using a strategy. I've been breaking even so far and my current goal is to chase a $500 or $1000 win. So far I've been playing the $20 tickets and ca black and gold almost exclusively, but I'm considering switching to $5 tickets so I can play more often and get a better return.

Welcome biggwinner!
Any of you playing Smokin' Hot and Win It All? can't seem to find them.
In my opinion, Win It All is junk. I believe it hasn't paid out a TP since last year sometime. Also, it's ending with still 12 TP on the books when it started at 16. I highly doubt it'll pay a TP before it disappears.
Someone posted an image of a $5 CA Black on CA Lottery Facebook page. Not sure if it's real or not. Top prize was $250,000, so it might replace the Win It All game, hopefully with better payouts.

$5 CA Black was a "real" game back in 2012. It had a whopping 32 top prizes and all but 1 were claimed.
Smoking Hot Cash and Win It All replaced that CA Black $5, same payout structures as before but yet it is so puzzling that it did not sell very well when the CA Black $5 did do well.

I read the winner story again and when I read the part about the clerk screaming/hugging the winner, I just realize the retailer (not the clerk, who is just happy for them in the spur of the moment) will not get the $5000 (or 1/2 percent comission) for selling the ticket. Not too beneficial for the retailer to offer this game other than the high sales rate.

Bought 1 $5 million jackpot, 1 ca gold, 1 ca black, 4 silver 7s, and 2 money roll. Won $15 on ca gold and $5 on money roll for an overall loss of $44. Not good considering I'm still down $120 from yesterday.

Haven't been doing well with the new tickets so I've been looking for the old ones. Found Cash Up instead. Bought 4: 2 losers, 1 ticket and 1 got the 10X symbol with 1.00 under for $10......hahaha!
I've read from the other thread that their state has a minimum for these symbols...wish we have that too .

Well the lottery gods have punished me again, 3 more $5 million jackpot losers. Not even a free ticket. This means my scratcher funds are depleted so I'll wait a couple weeks and try again. Best of luck to everyone still playing the $20 tickets, that is a tough game to beat without at least a grand in your bankroll.
