I used an abbreviated wheel for a pick 5 from the lottery wheels. It was a A-5-17-4-5-182. I did not pick all 5 numbers correctly but I went back and entered the winning numbers and I didn't see the 4 of 5 in the list. I was wondering why this is.

So you made the wheel again including all 5 winning numbers and did not see a line with 4 four of the winning numbers among the 182.

Did you see all 5 of the winning numbers among the lines?  If so odds are it's in there, look harder.

You can use a wheel tester like CoverMaster to test the wheel's matrix.  If you don't have CoverMaster you can find a copy at Lotto-Logix on the wheeling resources page.  Just make the wheel again using pointer numbers 01-17 then copy and paste it into CoverMaster then use the drop down menu to check it.

Or, you can make the wheel pointers and copy and paste it into a PM and send it to me and I'll test it.

isnt that a 4 if 5 of 17 wheel, its only a guarantee of 4 numbers if 5 of the 17 are hit. a full wheel would  definitely have a 5 hit but run way  larger than 182 games.
