I was a Data Analyst until I got laid off 2 years ago. I'm still trying to use my Data skills to crack the NJ Pick4. My last win was last Dec 2012 and another win would come by soon.
Anyway, I wish to share my Excel skills in this forum, to the benefit of all. This spreadsheet maps the frequency of the digits from 0 thru 9 over 1 thru 4 weeks of drawings. Let me list the steps needed to produce this, so you may apply it to your individual state lotterys or even to mega and pb.
1. Produce a list of previous drawing results from your state lottery website, then hit the copy keys (Ctrl C)
2. Open a spreadsheet and drop the list from step 1, (Ctrl V)
3. Split the Results column (Column C) into 4 individual cells using the SPLIT function
4. In a separate area, map the digits 0 thru 9 in individual cells
5. Do a COUNTIF function, incrementing the counter only if the value in the cell matches the value in step 4
6. You can do a CONDITIONAL formatting to HIGHLIGHT the digits with the most occurrence as shown in the RED/WHITE cells.
