  Mega Millions: There was no jackpot winner in the Friday, September 12, 2014 Mega Millions drawing, but 1 lucky player from Florida matched the first 5 numbers for a $1,000,000 prize.  Florida has been hitting 5+0 on a regular basis, but they continue missing out on millions.

  Mega Millions: There was no jackpot winner in the Tuesday, September 16, 2014 Mega Millions drawing, but 3 lucky players matched the first 5 numbers for a $1,000,000 prize: 2 from California and 1 from Pennsylvania.  Could have won $2,000,000 with the megaplier.

  Let's say you had some lucky numbers you played (however you got them), but was just the first 5. If you just went 1-49 (?) And you won on all of them, how much red tape would there be to collect if the multiplier was 2 or higher?

  This thread is useless,  not every state has Multiplier,  Like California for instance

  So, the lottery "saved" $9 million in payouts by these winners not buying the multiplier. Good for the lottery.....bad for the players.

  lol  You beat me to it Mike. And I can only imagine how last nights 5 +0 MM winner in Virginia feels since the multiplier was 5. Hopefully they do not know.

  There is an interesting story about this winner on the VA lottery website. She won before!!!  In 2008 and 5 of 6....but it was only $250,000 then. She still has not learned to spend that extra dollar. I have never heard of someone getting 5 of 6 twice in PB or MM.

  Wow.  If that had happened to me, I'd be pleased to have won but still sick that I left so much on the table, just like I would be if I had a regular set of numbers and didn't play them and they hit or accidentally throwing away the winning ticket.    I'm playing that extra buck - I'm not ahead on it by any means, but I've won small prizes a few times b/c of it on the Texas Lottery.

  Yeah I read about her on mega millions website she won twice in a six year span but did not megaply either ticket.  The oregon 5+0 winner this summer did not megaply his ticket either.  I always spend the extra dollar on the megaplier since I usually only play one to two lines on mega millions.-weshar75
