Building a lotto spreadsheet is a great way to learn Excel on the fly! Best place to put your study efforts is =IF and =COUNTIF, both great help in describing what is happening in your game.
That said, I still keep a lotto journal to jot down anything I notice as I am going through my spreadsheet.

Some members like paper and pen, they claim it's faster and easier than learning Excel or how to program.
Yes I will always use paper and pen,and use the human element..Excel will just help me do that better, and save me time on my workouts.
The array of numbers to letters is the start ..I call this phase 1 ( the base of the Master System). Sheet 1 of the work sheet..
This may take weeks or months....Not sure....
Work sheet 2 will be the Exciting part, The data from work sheet 1 will merge with work sheet 2 .. at that point don't know if I will need
more work sheets or not.
You may ask what in the world is going on with this Master System, what are your goals?
Hold on to your hat!! In the end what I want is a system, that gives you no more than 6 numbers to play each draw..
And make Money each week...Will I reach that Goal maybe or maybe not..But IF I don't push myself ,I would never know.
All of know by now systems come and go....And you know I want this one to stay.

In resumé:
Excel has a lot of ready features, like connection to Access database. There is a lot more to it than worksheet-functions.
Functions are sorted by for what they are used, like text, statistics or other. I add custom functions and subroutines.
For the beginner:
You have to know and practice with cell referencing, it is the A to Z in this.
When you try a function, you have to read the information that MSDN gives you and try a few things.
The best way to access and use functions is to click on the Fx, than pick a function by category. That decreases the risk of mistakes.
The main questions that come up here are like how do I deal with strings? The answer is, you use text functions. The way to go further is to put the values in separate cells. Sorting is done with mouse clicks, or you apply functions like small(). Again here you use the cell referencing. The top level of spreadsheet functions is composed by matrix functions that can be complicated. Some buy programs to write them, I don't, I use VBA-coding.
Tricks:
A cell has a format like date, text or number value. Experiment!Basics you should learn first: logical functions (and, or, not, true, false ...) and text functions (mid, ...).
OR = from two at least one is true
XOR = from two only one is true
AND = from two both are true...
Defects in Excel:
Some functions don't do well. The solution is to write your own functions or not to use them.
Not a defect is exhausting the memory and the display of wrong results, but very annoying. The solution is programming sub routines.
Concatenation is best done with ampersand '&'.Some solution with bigger data is to place it in Access or SQL-server and query it. This needs coding. You can also query in the workbooks.
...
A tip:
Use conditional formatting for your tables. It has become very efficient. It does a visual sorting.
After importing data that is coming in one column, use the split to cells.

I have played a lot with this idea in my programs and here is a part of it.
There are two parts here, one is the Main test (Bob is looking for) and 2nd part is a simulation test of playing certain order positions (Bob's order: A-K or my order: 1.-10.)
In this example digits are ordered by current skip (green column) showing how many draws each digit has been out.
Digits could be ordered in other ways instead of current skip as:
- digits occurrences
- by total hits
- by max skip
Bob's idea seems to be sorting digits by total number of hits in the last X drawings.
Once we have digits in the certain order we can wheel digits from some positions.
In this example I simulated playing 35 combos, SINGLES, BOX, wheel conditions: "If 3 of 7 digits at positions 1. - 7. (A - G)".
By the way my sorting is very precise so that if we have the same digits at two or more positions they are sorted by another priority.
In this example digits are ordered by current skip. If we have the same digit at two or more positions priority is given to digit with more hits, if that's still the same for all them, then priority is given to digits with lower maxSkip etc. Priority means that a digit gets a lower order position.

This doesn't mean a different sorting and playing different wheels wouldn't make a profit.

Tks for posting mark , I love your Universal Filter For Digits...Use it almost daily.
Other parts of your program , I'll need time to make sure I'm doing it right.
For now I will stay Focus on the foundation of the Master Chart.
I sure a lot of people rise there eyebrows When they seen your post .. WOW

In your program can you take the string down to 6 numbers ? That is one of my goals..
6 numbers is 20 plays ..The hard part is to ele 3 numbers, you got to be right,,

Once you have an ordered set of 10 digits for the next draw you can do anything you want with them.
You can wheel and play as many of them as you want, but which ones?
There are two questions here:
- what is the best digits ordering criteria (current hit skip - how many draws each digit didn't show up, digits occurrences - how many times each digit showed up in the last X drawings, quantity of hits - how many hits each digit had in the last X drawings, max skip - the longest consecutive absence of each digits in the last X drawings...)
- digits from which positions to play all the time
You can't figure out this without PC simulation program.
This analysis is very demanding and cannot be tested on the paper.
Betting strategy and timing seem to be more important than digits selection strategy.

in A........ Top roll 210 came in . .The letters I H and B..
First we would type in 210 in C that would do E at the same time..
Then go to A with the mouse and touch the letters I H and B they would go to D(IHB) and F(BIJ)
Ok This is just the base Idea I'm sure will change as time goes on...
There's nothing new here..And yes we could add odd even in and out ,and go on and on...
But for now let's build the base. Any and all help with formulas is appreciated ...
