I've been in TX twice (1986 and 1992). Both times were in the extreme NE part of the state. I was in Dallas briefly in '86.

My other visit was just after the TX Lottery started; only scratch tickets were available.

Thanx for the invite; however, I don't know anyone there. I probably wouldn't like the very hot summers. I also would want to be near LA or NM for Powerball.

As for politics, did you know GW Bush was born in Connecticut?

Sure, but like they say about Amarillo, "I wasn't born in Amarillo, but I got here as quick as I could."  It is not where you were born, it is where you end up that counts.  You sound like a good "dude".  You would always be welcome here in Texas.

If I were to move out of state, it would most likely be Connecticut. I do have friends there. I wouldn't have to go out of state to play Powerball; the Connecticut 6/44 game pays MUCH BETTER than the NY 6/59.

BTW, why "Orangeman"? Isn't "Amarillo" Spanish for "yellow"? I wouldn't think Texans are cowardly.

Amarillo was named after Amarillo Creek which has a yellow soil in the creek bottom.  It could have been worse.  The original name was Hide Town (after the piles of buffalo hides outside of town which was located on Wild Horse Lake)  It was changed to Oneida after some guy's wife for awhile, but that really was a sissy name.  Amarillo is OK.  Like I said, it could have been worse.

There are/were Oneida Indians in upstate NY. The Oneidas in Wisconsin (near Green Bay) offer casino gambling. Before the Wisconsin Lottery began, the Oneida tribe started its own lottery.

In 1996, after three rollovers NY Lotto was $25 million. Now it takes eight rollovers to reach $19m.
