RJoh,
That is exactly correct. I do not know whether "Positional Wheel" is the correct term to use, but I think it describes it the best.
In the case of the Blue Knight Challenger, the process is in a way a two step process, which also divides the success evalutaion into to two areas.
The first step after evaluating the previous draws is to come up with the expected range for each position. Here the Maryland version using the previous four draws. (Currently I do not evaluate the bonus number, it is of minor interest in the positional situation anyhow.)
Pos. 1: Between 6 & 12
Pos. 2: Between 11 & 17
Pos. 3: Between 16 & 22
Pos. 4: Between 20 & 26
Pos. 5: Between 30 & 36
The first major success of course is to hit all positions right to have a potential hit of five numbers which in previous tests (CA Fantasy 5) can be achieved once in about 30 games. The interesting thing though is that four correct positions is very likely because it does not really matter in what position the final result occurs, and/or which one of the 5 ranges does not hit, e.g a result like 6, 7, 11, 20, 33 would still gives you 4/5 and 3/5 hits.
The second part is to come up with a "reasonable" wheel that is p(l)ayable. :) The PICK 5 version of the system offers a "Mini Wheel", Semi Wheel, Main Wheel and Full Wheel. What I show here is the small Mini Wheel. All wheels are reduced by playing only a certain area of high/low, even/odd, repeat and consectutive number ranges.
