Does anyone understand this new game??

    "Match 6 Lotto"

3 sets of 6 numbers is 3 times 6 = 18 numbers.  It's a 6/49 game and the minimum is $500K so the more numbers you pick the less you win like playing keno??

    Match 4 to 10 numbers??

Match 6 Lotto is based on three sets of six numbers from 1 to 49 and promises a minimum $500,000 jackpot that rolls over if no one wins.  The top prize is offered for matching all six numbers on one line; smaller prizes are awarded for matching three to five numbers on any single line.

Players can also win prizes for matching anywhere between four and 10 numbers on the game ticket.

"That's one of the things people said they wanted," said Steve Kniley, a revenue department spokesman.  "More prizes ... and better odds of winning."

My vote is "some other new game" because I don't believe in gimmicky games with weird prize structures.  Just make it simple and fair.

I can only imagine the confusion people are going to face when checking their tickets for winners.  I'll bet a lot of winners will get thrown in the trash accidentally.

youd be amazed at how many 5-10 dollar winning tickets i found in the trash at work at my c-store where i sold "bogus" tickets to the public. /i had to have a job, yall dont whip me now/...anyhow, you would think a drunk would be the person to follow around waiting on him to throw his scrathoff on the ground????????? not so amigo!!!!!!!!!!!!! more rich, mid class, un intoxicated people threw down winning tickets than drunks coming out of clubs!!!!!!!!! and to top it off, they were mostly people who played 500-800 dollars daily!!!!!!!!!!!!!! very intelligent!!!!!!!! , question, why is it the drunk dude puts his in his pocket but the straight dude throws his down on the ground?

"Hot Lotto" is an easy-to-win game (1:16, with minimum prize $2).

Give it a chance.  I read the same story in the paper also, (see my other post), and am not confused, but I'm wondering also how this will work.  Good news is it has overall odds of 1 in 9 which are not bad, aabout the same as the excellent cash 5 daily. and even the same odds of a minimum prize on any scratch ticket.

Then it sort of occured to me (and I am only guessing here) that 10 numbers will be drawn; the first 6 will be like regular lotto (prize payouts for 3, 4, and 5 numbers on each line (3 lines per $2 ticket) are fixed.  It will actually be 6/49.  My guess is that 4 bonus numbers will be drawn, to mach; and a seperate (as quoted prize structure exists for any 4 of 18 ($2) to 10 of 18 ($2,500) sort of like Keno.  I remembered the Wild Card Lotto that worked the same way, the computer could tell the difference between the Winning Numbers and the Wild Card Number.  really not a bad game as lotto's go; it was one of the predecessors to Super (or Stupid) 6.

So maybe we have a winner this time.  We'll see.  As he who runs the Office Pool, this one has Potential.

If any of you are affraid of gimmicks it could be better or Worse.  Anyone remember Md's "Let it Ride Daily"?  Or Delaware's 'Winning hand".  Actuall a good game.  But some people don't like Card lottos.  Del's Lucky Date game didn't seem to go over too well either , although that was a great game, I think.  Yeah, I know, only good if one wins.

              Good luck to all.

Are you sure Match Six will be $2-per-play?

Saw more info on Match Six: $2 for three games (two of them          automatic QPs,) non-parimutuel prizes from $2 to $2500 depending on matching at least three numbers in one game, or 4-10 matches across all three games. I presume if you match at least three in one game, AND four or more overall, you win the higher prize (games vs total matches).

Yes, that's what the Paper said about $2 tickets.  Saw samething as "Cash only".  I still think somehow 10 numbers are drawn.  Again to make the odds realistic, I still feel that 6primary numbers will be drawn to match on each line only' plus 4 more bonus numbers to match anywhere (like Wild Card Lotto before Super 6).  Then the $2 for 4 to $2,500 for 10 kicks in.  Also agree that perhaps the one time higher total would be paid, but it could be cumulative.  Like 3 on a line, plus another $2 for having a bonus number on another line.  Or maybe not, we'll just have to see.  But I think with the overall chances.  It could be my favorite , too.

It would surprise me if the jackpot were AUTOMATICALLY cash. I'm            99 44/100% sure six numbers will be drawn, with no bonus #.

But how would 10 numbers (out of 18 total on the ticket) be matched.?  Agree that a total cash (Present worth--I alwasy cheuckle when I ask people All Cash?  Don't you get a check instead (over $500?).  Tax rate is better, and invest that into a better annuity that pays out a check every mont or two weeks.  Beats working.

                              Saw that.  Thanks.

Good source of information.  There is another page , links , and discusion, of match 6 as you know.  The Pa. Bulletin pretty much explains everything; as did other discussions under other topics.  So wait and see how it works out.  Seems like the real game will be the extra plays that win a chance at a combo prize of 7 matches or more.  Yes, I think this can only be acheived with duplicate play numbers.  A pre-drawing?

Any more news on the new Summer game?

A thought of the other day:  If this Match 6 type format works out.  Can a similar 5 digit game be far behind?  Multi-line, multi-play game.  Can't beat scratch tickets for small prizes.
