The "Kicker" should be ignored...and not be carried over if Ohio changes Lotto soon.

You can add to the fact that the jackpot is $29M that the cash value is more than the odds of winning the jackpot with a dollar. The odds of winning is 1:14M and the cash value is $14.5M. This is the point where players and lottery pools that prefer to spend a hundred dollars or more will buy a few tickets. I will be surprised if the jackpot is not won within the next two draws.
Ohio wants to change the game so it can attract more players without offering a large jackpot, maybe put a $5M cap on it like Michigan Win fall and let Megamillions attact players with the big jackpots. I seldom play the Kicker, but offering it on the SuperLoto tickets doesn't bother me. I doubt if the Kicker could stand on its own as a game, so I will be surprised if it is removed unless the commision can find another way to get an extra dollar out of the players.
Since its start, Megamillions has not had the large jackpots expected and the lottery commission has been disappointed. I may buy a few extra tickets for wednesday's drawing.

RJ:
Only six months ago, a $29 million Ohio 6/49 jackpot would have had a cash value of about $1.75 million LESS because of the low-balling of cash winners (44% cash value then). The format of "Kicker" has nothing to do with Lotto 6/49, so, theoretically, it should be a "stand-alone" game if Ohio wants to continue it. A _much_better_ idea is the multiplier that would be the same as the PowerPlay option in Powerball. The Michigan "Winfall" game may have peaked already, since the first few drawings were funded with leftover "Michigan Millions" money.

Depending on what Ohio does, there may not be another $29 million jackpot in Ohio again for some time, except for Mega Millions.

We can't control the size of the jackpot, but we can play when the cash payoff is larger than the odds of winning.

RJ:
If Ohio adopts one of the proposed changes, the new game probably would rarely produce a $29 million jackpot, or NEVER.

What ever Ohio decide to do, the payout will be less for every dollar taken in. When Ohio lottery first started, it had better odds, better payout and larger jackpots. Each improvement has meant worst odds, smaller prize amounts and smaller jackpots. There is no reason to think that this trend will change. Each year that the state dosn't show an increase in profit is reported as a lost.

Lotteries in most states were started to take advantage of the monies that were going to private casino gambling. If anything, they have failed to stay competitive when they tried to increase their profit. Pick3 games which has not change their basic format have continued to attract a constant number of players over the years.

A number of states (eg Kentucky, NY) now have an "instant win" feature to their Pick-3/4 games. The NY version, optional, where you pay an extra $1, prints 3 or 4 NON-RANDOM digits; you compare them with the number you bought for the actual drawing. You win up to $500 if any of the digits match ON the ticket (the second 3- or 4-digit number is _not_ for the drawing) in the same position. Sorry if this is a bit confusing.

Yes Cash.
You always CONFUSE people especially when you say choose cash. Don't blow all your winnings in one place - Choose Annuity

Then why don't you drive out there in time for the drawing?

Before you can choose cash or annuity, you have to win a jackpot, so neither opinion is worth a bucket of slop to the aveage lottery player or even a hog farmer. Those same opinions are posted ten to twenty times everyday. Do either of you people think anyone care that much about your one opinion? Can't either of you come up with some other useful information?

In NY the choice still must be made when you PLAY. I keep having to fend off AIG's attack on a player's right to choose (cash).

The best the posted 300 numbers could do is to match 3 five time. I played the first 20 which included one of those match 3's, so I get a free play which I don't consider a prize. No one won the jackpot, so I may try again this Saturday using some refined perameters.
Good luck Ohioplayers

RJ:
When NY Lotto was 6/51 with ONE play for $1 (March 3, 1999-September 8, 2001), the 3/6 prize was a "CASH VALUE" free play. This 2 1/2-year period was the _only_ time NY Lotto was not two plays for $1.

Cash,
What's your point? Don't blow all your winnings in one place - Choose Annuity
