Lucky player at N.D. casino doesn't want to put employees out of a job
Orville Erickson could hardly believe it but his wife, Dorothea, says she just had a feeling it might be a lucky weekend.
Orville Erickson hit a $2.98 million jackpot on a nickel slot machine Saturday at the Dakota Magic Casino near Hankinson. Slots manager Darrell Mireau said it was the largest jackpot in the casino's 11-year history.

Lottery Not Blaming Slots for Flat Sales
Pennsylvania's lottery sales stumbled in the just-ended fiscal year as slot machines came on line finishing flat after a half-decade of huge gains spurred by bigger games, more retailers and glitzier advertising.
After subtracting expenses, commissions and prize money, the lottery contributed less money to state coffers than the prior year for the first time since 2001.

First Ca$hola jackpot win in Delaware
A Dover woman won $318,770 on a penny slot machine at Dover Downs Hotel Casino.
Ingrid Karas won the jackpot Tuesday on the multistate game Ca$hola.
It was the first Ca$hola win in Delaware and the second-highest jackpot at the casino, according to a news release from Dover Downs.
The game also is played in Rhode Island and West Virginia.
Karas, a retired telephone operator, moved to Delaware from Long Island, N.Y, four years ago.
