Yeah....and? From the top, Trump and his White House were already in self-destruct mode just by moving waaaaay too fast on this issue...way fast. I understand that they were all so excited with this opportunity, and MOSTLY, that it would FINALLY be something that Obama couldn't out. I get it. However, had they taken Obama's 'back door-back channel' diplomacy ques and kept everything on the down UNTIL it either panned out or failed as it has, this whole major embarrassment would be substantially minimized. Fact. All that Nobel Peace Prize business , AND, they went as far as to mint a coin with Trump and Jong Un on it facing each other! Think I'm lying? Okay:

If that's not pushing way too hard and fast with excessively high hopes, I don't know what is. So, it seems that Jong Un responded to Trump & Pence's 'Libya Model' remark which we all know what it means because we saw it. This is Trump's idea of diplomacy whereas everyone else in the world immediately viewed it as raw strong-arming for absolutely no reason. Apparently, Jong Un was supposed to bow down and not respond to an uncalled for threat right in the middle of major talks as well as the aftermath of the concessions that Jong Un had already made in GOOD FAITH. I'm not praising or salivating over Jong Un but, he initiated positive things in a helluva way. Jong Un threatening to step away from the summit IF Trump & Co. didn't STOP PRESSURING HIM to dismantle RIGHT NOW doesn't warrant the comments which Trump and Pence made in my opinion and many others.

Folks, Kim Jong Un still initiated talks even after Trump had did his whole 'fire and fury' rant which was an unwarranted clear nuclear threat. Then there was the whole who has the 'bigger button' exchange which still didn't prevent Jong Un from moving towards talks. Well, here's what seems to have IRONICALLY broken Trump's spirit:

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/24/world/asia/north-korea-trump-summit.html

From the link above:

-“We will neither beg the U.S. for dialogue nor take the trouble to persuade them if they do not want to sit together with us,” said Choe Son Hui, a vice foreign minister. She said it was up to Washington whether “the U.S. will meet us at a meeting room or encounter us at nuclear-to-nuclear showdown.”-

That is what Trump couldn't handle because he knows that North Korea is SERIOUS and that Jong Un now has leverage just like other countries with nukes...which we don't attack but yet support. No, I'm not siding with NK, I'm just shedding light on the big picture here. Jong Un made it clear that he was not going to be like Libya or Iraq, okay, at least not without a fight. Trump says he himself likes to be unpredictable but, we all knew he'd pull back on this the second that Jong Un flexed a bit. Oh, but Trump wants to flex towards Jong Un for us while Jong Un just sits with his thumb up his @ss? Get real. *My take is that this all falls on the White House as utter failure for moving too fast, not using back channels, and certainly for not bridling Trump's and Pence's tongue so they could AT LEAST MEET UP WITH JONG UN AND STILL CALL IT A PARTIAL VICTORY.

NO DEAL...PUN INTENDED.
