Some retired Army general Tweeted yesterday that using force against someone who is "only" throwing rocks would be an illegal order and an inappropriate response.

Tell that to the Mexican Federales who were seriously injured by thrown rocks. That general needs to "just fade away".

I suspect Trump's statement was bluster, nothing more, only a warning to the caravans, but I also suspect there will be some severe non-lethal responses if push comes to shove.

Thanks Mike. I think you have to weigh intent of the invader/attacker that if they get a good bead on someone's head with a rock they'd throw it hard as they could with intent to kill them. Also if the invader/attacker had a firearm to aim the intent to kill would be the same. Invaders don't care how many they kill so long as they accomplish their mission of coming over our border.

Throwing rocks and causing bodily harm to Mexican military and police has already demonstrated clear intent.

President Trump is right again. One border agent killed by rock throwers and this agent killed by a rock and his partner in serious condition. The intent is clearly there.
