I use google maps to look up places and maps. Using the street view and satellite images is pretty neat. I was looking at Oregon and Haines Alaska area yesterday and was pulling up street views as well as open terrain snapshots not on the highways. Gives you a nice look just as if you were traveling by auto. Those steet views are nice as you have control of the 360 degree views as well as panning in and out. Travel to places to take a look where I would not care to take the time to drive to .

I have done some research on locations of gold deposits long before this gold rush show came on. Gold in Maine, N.H., Vt, the Dakotas. Gold is where you research and find it.
It,s chasing a rainbow.
Someone could even pan for gold in old mine tailings getting permission or the right to do so of course.
I seen one article where they pan for gold right in the city of Los Angeles.
There are gem locations established that allow you to go in their surface mining area for a small fee.
There is gold located In Ga too.
