"I’d put on a comfortable pair of shoes myself, I'll will walk on that picket line with you as President of the United States of America," said then candidate Barack Obama.

It's obvious why he hasn't offered much support...he's out trying to find a comfortable pair of shoes!

My opinion is we don't need unions, there are plenty of laws that protect workers. Unions are a SOCIALISTIC SUB-CULTURE.   They can hardly be fired. They work slower than they should. Many auto workers are uneducated. They make considerably more than the going rate for similar non-union jobs and do less. They get benefits the average non-union worker never get.

It is obvious that yet again your trying to take a swap at the minority and the work effort. You are a dying breed and none too so for me stop the hatred rhetoric. Sub-culture I pity a person so out of step with the 21st century.NEWS FLASH! thing will never go back to the days when white man rules everything even when to go to the bathroom "NEVER" there been many that broke their campaign promise including Speaker John Boehner " the jobs ".

Louise you act like Blacks are the only union members? I am not thinking of "minorities" when I post unless I specifically say so. Why would I? You seem to be the only "minority" that has a BLACK fixation! You are the most racist person I know.

Just for the record, I see a Black person crossing the street, I stop and let them cross. I have never run over one in my life. I hold doors open for Blacks. And I say thank you when they hold a door open for me. I talk to Blacks whether they are cashiers, doctors, mechanics, whatever.

DON'T EVER ACCUSE ME OF BEING UNFAIR to a certain race or any race! GOT IT?

I don't like bullies, you don't do anything that I don't do with white America. I get along with every race cause it's the right thing to do. You know I can't be a racist with that word come power and I am a proud minority I don't control anything in this country.I can be prejudice, but I am not that either. You don't know me either so use that label else where.

They are making unions an issue to foment class war and division exactly as we see reflected in the comments.

Please folks, the enemy is not fellow Americans. We have all got burned EQUALLY.

The reason unions are so important to the Democrats is that there has never been a period of time in all of history in which a progressive agenda has not moved forward without organized labor keeping the workers enslaved to their ranks. "Empowered"? Hardly. Unions were wonderful at helping workers in coal towns decades ago, but today they are nothing more than socialist extensions of the Democrat party. They take thousands of dollars per year and do nothing to help the average worker. On the other hand, they keep bad teachers on the job, while ensuring that any new teachers will be fired before the more entrenched bad ones.

Public service union members should be allowed to PAY THE MONTHLY UNION DUES individually from their own wallets, as opposed to having the states automatically deduct the dues from their paychecks. The public service union bosses and democrats fear this tremendously.

Many union members are not well notified of the "Beck Rule" when it comes down to union dues use.
Search "Beck Rule" and you will find Pres Obama signed an executive order in 09 changing some of the Beck rule.

Also search "Beck v CWA " regarding unions and their members.
